Gee, how many more would he have received if they hadn't considered his "good riding record"?

Did anyone see it? Was it worth more than 12 meetings if he had been someone with numerous suspensions in a short time period?

I'd really like to know, not just asking questions for the sake of it. Thanks to anyone who can answer.

Perth

William Pike has been suspended him for two months (to commence after the Railway) after being found  guilty of improper riding at Ascot on 10 November. The stewards claim Pike twice used his elbow near fellow jockey Paul Harvey in a bid to prevent Rich & Wild from improving its position.

Yes said the same thing as i was sitting at the betting meeting with friends ... the screen was big enough, would have been pretty hard to have missed the winner coming.

Holy cow!!  Ollie must have been really careless to get 14 meetings!

It's good to see the penalty mirroring the offence more often now.  Didn't see or hear the race so can't comment on the rights or wrongs of it.  There have been too many falls and deaths lately to continually overlook careless riding.

Well done, Stewards.

Sorry bit late coming in on this but the jockey looking at himself on the big screen Damien robinson was caught out because the video had a delay so on the screen he was still a mile in front whereas live another horse was coming fast.

And another, Heavyweight jockey Jamie Mott has been stood down from riding after failing a drug test.  He was routinely tested after the Horsham meeting on 19 October which came back positive for an illegal substance. being Benzoylecgonine (a metabolite of cocaine) in the sample provided by Jamie.

It just never ends.

Racing Victoria Ltd

Racing Victoria stewards have received the analyst’s report on the urine sample provided by licensed jockey, Jamie Mott subsequent to him riding at Horsham on Sunday, 19th October 2008.

The analyst has reported the presence of Benzoylecgonine (a metabolite of cocaine) in the sample provided by him.

Mr Mott has been stood down from riding and an inquiry into the matter will be held on a date to be fixed.
