More a victim of circumstances than a bad ride Josh Parr on DUAIS should have bolted in .

Duais – Lost its near fore plate approaching the 200m. Rider J Parr reported that he followed Colette in the event with a view to improve behind that runner in the straight. He said that when Colette did not quicken in the early stages of the straight as he had anticipated Duais became badly held up between the 400m and the 200m before shifting to the outside of Montefilia to secure clear running whereby the mare finished the race off well.

Be interesting to see how far she goes this campaign, I remember thinking there was something a bit special about her in the the Spring and she's obviously come back well.

Bolted in?

Watching the replay there looks to be a gap when Collette rolls up the track but the gap was going faster than the horse. Not till she comes across heals and gets to the crown of the track does she warm up.

Duais was certainly a bit stiff.
I couldn't believe the $67 and $13 I got....drifted out to $81
It was hard to miss her previous run in The Apollo.

I just wish the jock had got her in to clear running.
Such a big track and looking even across, it was hard to work out the reason horses were competing on a narrow strip by the rails in that race.

Duais looks a really classy horse and will go around very short next time.

They are talking about the Australian Cup for Duais. Considering the Tab has her at $11 for the Cup and $26 for the Ranvet, it will be interesting to see where they head with Duais.

I was quite impressed with the grey Top Ranked yesterday. Quite fresh and it will be interesting to see where they head with him.

Jamea is another to watch out for in dry ground after her run in the Surround Stakes. Like her in any F & M races.

Top Ranked pulled up not that good, Jeunes.

Radley commented on Top Ranked walking back to scale with Bowman in the saddle......Bowman should have dismounted by the sounds.
3/5 lame near fore leg.

I can't cop that stable after her admitting to "routine" use of anti-inflammatories with the Zaaki positive.

That’s a shame with Top Ranked. Looked a good looking horse in the coverage. Thought he will be a nice Tancred or Brisbane carnival horse.

I can’t recall seeing a bigger slaughter job. The poor thing should have won by 6. No right to even run a drum

Not at all fair Wily.
She came out of the outside barrier.
I had a bit on her and every time the jock tried to improve the position another horse kicked up and made it impossible.
What do you suggest the jock should have done.

Check out D Yendall riding Saintly Rose.
He hit her right handed and she ran in, he hit her lefthanded and she ran out....he hit her righthanded again and she got rid of him and he hasn't been riding since.
She is obviously a very difficult mare....whips don't hurt alright

Nem, I believe she should have let her slide rather than sitting way out there. There was a lot of passiveness and indecision early on. She was never going to get in and should hav3 realised

A Collett on Surreal Step SR9 - pretty disappointed didn't take the outside space after coming into the straight, looked the natural thing to do - back to the inside and lot's of hurt.

What should D Oliver had done, Wily?.....he drew barrier 1.
You've just got to take your barrier medicine.

Big effort by Jungle Magnate.....has to be good to make a run like that on the corner.... always looked a very strong stayer.
Hope he's not burnt out for his 4 yr old season.

Jye Mc Neil was having a good run yesty at Flemington rode the first two winners but his luck ran out on It's Ourtime in R7 he couldn't get a run wherever he went finally seeing daylight the the horse grapped the bit until he met another dead end I think it would have won with better luck.
