Starting a thread as I see markets are coming up now.

From a quick scout of social media a few targeted at this a
- Bondi Beach (first up from the Melbourne Cup)
- Annus Mirabilis
- Master Of Arts

Looking for a bit of early value I had something on Master Of Arts at $26 after a forgive run last time in a race with no pace, he'll be hard and fit and should run two miles. Would be interested to see if Sweet Melody goes there, made late ground from the back in the same race. If we can identify the leading one or two Weir chances we shouldn't be too far away here.

Mail It In might sneak a place as best of the local hopes, has come on a bit since his SA Derby 5th.

Surely Tunes will go there.

I doubt the horse has had a break since the last Cup  :/

He couldn't win but boy he's a tough old bugger.

This and the Brisbane Cup need to be early closing races to get greater profiles and back to where they belong.

I see that this Adelaide Cup thread has been moved to the Melbourne Cup board.

Why?

I have taken it upon myself to move ALL significant staying events to the Melbourne Cup board for easier finding in the future.

The Melbourne Cup board should show on everybodys timeline so it should make little difference.

All these races will be lost to the nether regions of the forum.

In this barely used board it will almost always be fairly prominent.

Relatively happy with my ticket on Master Of Arts now $26 > $6 but not that impressed by the form close around him on Saturday - Jim's Journey, Mail It In, Puccini.. Probably a tier or two below. He did do a bit of donkey work dragging the field up to the leader.

Roy Higgins didn't really answer a lot of questions either. Best run was almost Mujadale a 9yo, doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Cadillac Mountain was OK and I think is overs at $17. Dandy Gent almost got put through the rail and was a forgive run.

Sets up for something to come from another form line or possibly a local victory via Mail It In which ran on well. Would be good to see as Mcdonald & Gluyas and owners put a lot of time and effort into breeding to staying pedigrees.

Leave me out of Bondi Beach first up over 3200m first up. Congrats to them if they can pull it off but not for me at $5.

You just know a Williams runner will be there abouts, deciding which one is the issue  :/

He's never really been one of mine Almoonqith has laps on many of these, if you can forget the Flemington run where he just doesn't go, $26 looks overs  :chin:

Looks like Bondi Beach out with a foot abcess, bit of a shame would have added some class to the race.

Hmm...Lord Van Percy is supposed to be going to Auckland but there he is.  Renew did not accept.

Kawabata is an interesting one.  Daughter of Riva San who seems to have found her forte in long distance races.  Big step up in class but certainly won well last time.   Completely stupid weight scale against her.

Had something on Bayanova on a 1w/2p basis at $81. True stayer with good third up stats who should get a solid pace to set her up. Min weights being 55.5 works against. This is the same tier of horses that Francis of Assisi beat by ten lengths and nothing really stood out greatly in either of the lead ups, so open to the idea of a blowout.

Bit of rain overnight should suit Annus Mirabilis as well as the favourites  Master Of Arts and Chance To Dance

Annus Mirabilis comes from the biased  track at Flemington, can stay and has got my cash.

 Darabad first up is interesting.

Can only say "You little beauty" Three deep the whole way and was bolting.

The bias from Flemington was even more franked by the run of Double Bluff who had  finished last in the Roy Higgins.
Took a 5 horse boxed first 4 for 10% and they were the first 5 horses home as well as a little eachway Double Bluff.

I like to put the odd tip up so when something good happens I've got someone to tell.

Too excited there.
Darabad was the fifth horse and was down the track.
