Great card of races at GC today.  I fear some winners I will have never heard of.

Taking the easy way out and backing NIKITAS all-up JUMBO PRINCE as my main bets.

That will work out $2.25 - if they lob.  :x:

Well, I know I've had Bet365 scared for almost 15 months now, but this takes the cake...

I decided last night to have a small wager on the tennis to back Azarenka all-up Groth.   Never had a bet on tennis with Bet365 previously so went in to test them out.

The all-up price was a princely $2.51.

I would have had $20 on it.  Nope, too much, so advised to hit Bet Max.

What was I allowed??  42 CENTS.

It is Pathetic now in that most of us thought the corporates would bring competition to the TAB's ....it worked for a while...and then as you have experienced DD....the response you get now...just shows how many good punters there are...the reject you got should be a complement ...

First the bad news (for DD, who has a fragile relationship with Jerry Hall)

Rupert has asked Jerry to marry him.  She said yes (told ya DD she was a gold digger)

The good news is she hasn't aged well.....

Agree with Chuggers DD
They are just a shell of their former selves ... must be running out of new clients

Have had a $5 bonus sitting on a/c for awhile now.

Last time I used their bonus I had problems. Good at finding ways to complicate stuff
I used the $5 for a bet, THEN deposited a further $25 of my own, which I used for a (winning) quaddie.
Was unable to withdraw winnings of Quadrella, even though I deposited the cash used, simply because the bonus bet had been used.
Totally unrelated, and I think they crossed a line in linking unrelated bets.

See the Bet365 thread

Other issues - The $10 nd $20 bonus daze are long gone.
They are of the opinion that a $5 bonus is very attractive.
It is if you can do three consecutive successful parlays.
I can't usually manage that.

Yeah, quite bizarre.  42c would be the lowest stake I have been offered with Max Bet - although on outsiders, it's a waste of time asking.

I still have my account with them and have a far larger balance than when I was banned 14 months ago.  I'm still able to get on for a reasonable amount at Best TAB.  Happy with that.  I do miss the early fixed odds.

Even so, Sportsbet are filling a void.  Had a nice win on IT'S A THRILLA at SC at $4.2 the drum fixed on Sunday.  It paid less than $2 best tote from memory.  I have several $k with them but am petrified about making a withdrawal for fear of a "review of account".  Have made numerous other withdrawals in the past - all coming from a $300 deposit five years back.  Nil deposits since.

On to your Bet365 experience...bit puzzling, eh?  Never struck that situation.

You're right.  No bonuses for this little black duck any more.   Even when I got them, I couldn't always be sure they got credited, although I guess they did or others would be bitching, too.

Keep winning.  :bulb:

DD your experience with Bet365, is none different with mine at Tabcorp, who closed my telephone betting account, after I consistently won on their fixed odds on USA trots. No minimum 42 cents for me, they just closed the account.

Oh, you're bloody versatile, Bubba.

I gather not many of the corps bet on US trots??  I know I wouldn't

Bet365 letting me on today.  So far XENON at best TAB, and ARIANE at $1.80 fixed.  Long day ahead.

Not only do the 3 TABs bet fixed odds on US trots, but so do William Hill, Luxbet, Centrebet & Best Bookies ( WA Mob ). When I was taking them to the cleaners they were betting around 120%, but now they have wised up and are betting around 135%, even I have a bit of trouble finding a way  to beat those odds.

There are still some characters at the racetrack.  From Randwick on Saturday...

Was sitting in the grandstand 15 mins or so before the Derby, and I couldn't help but notice a bunch of 3 or 4 guys in the front row - there's only about 4 rows, so they were quite close.  They were middle-aged, possibly country gents, wearing ties because they had to.  There were $50 notes going back and forth, and soon one of the team headed up the stairs, presumably to have a bet.  I thought no more of it.

Race is over, Tavago wins at long odds, and once again my attention was drawn to the fellows up front.  Joy aplenty, I assumed they'd backed Tavago.  I went back to the bar area and did what punters usually do.

About 10 mins later, I came across one of the punting team from out front.  He was there clutching a number of schooners, in animated conversation with another acquaintance.  I didn't hear all what was said, but I got the idea that the group had taken a quaddie and had put Tavago in their picks - "so and so didn't wanna be in but he put in $50 and we got Tavago!!"  He was going on.  "Mate, we're gonna win  :censored: thousands.  We got three in the Sprint, Winx, and the FIELD!!! in the last."  He couldn't contain his joy.  I thought to myself, "I wouldn't book the overseas trip just yet, mate."

Anyway, we now know that Chataqua won - I assume the boys had him - as did Winx, and they got the bolter up in the last.

Have no idea what % they'd taken, but with a divvy north of $50k, I could only imagine what sort of night was had in Sydney Town.  Hopefully they got paid by cheque.

Good to see these sorts of guys get results.
