Open question Vadim, nothing implied, but are the outcomes (e.g unders / overs; cost benefit etc) reviewed annually and reported on and to whom?

As I understand it the Associations (breeders, owners and trainers) are regulary updated. e.g. a recent meeting of the parties discussing the QTIS 600 series.

Nothing implied :clap2:

Thanks Vadim,
So the QTIS budget for 2011 is $6.04M as indicated on the 2010 QTIS Registration form.
So if all those bonuses are won does that mean the scheme will run at a loss?

Do tell us more on how to win on the punt today, and the benefits of Roundup v Zero.  :/
Norton, no garden shed is complete without a bottle of Roundup (Glyphosate).  Cheapest for practical purposes is the Brunnings 1 lit 360.  Costs around $15 at Bunnings.   Equivalent stuff is about $50.  Use it 15ml/litre of spray, add a dash of washing-up detergent, it'll kill anything in your garden.

I used to think backing a 2nd place-getter was Heaven.  Now, it's seeing nutgrass go yellow. :clap2:

Got it  emthup

But very unlikely - great for the breeding industry if it did.

Big day out at Eagle Farm yesterday, with forumites coming out of the wood-work.  One corner of the Derby Bar was annexed, with tables permanently covered in beer glasses (some full), Best Bets, and torn up trifecta tickets.  :drinks:

Winning day on the punt for yours truly, thanks to Zero Rock.  Disappointing runs from WARRINGAH and BENNY'S BUTTONS.

Not so good for one prominent owner.  "How's the day mate?", said I.  "No good, DD."  "Oh, did ya back ya horse?", I enquired.  "Yeh, biggest bet in ages.  We thought it was a 10-length job."

Plenty of discussion about the partial black-out of the much-vaunted entry of SC into the "Friday night circuit".  Millions of dollars spent in lighting, and the UNiTAB hold was 65% of that on an equivalent meeting on the same track last Sunday.  Said one prominent owner, "Typical of Bob.  He thinks that because he reckons something is a good thing the rest of the world will follow suit."     Said one journo, "Half of Queensland couldn't see it".

So now to the new SC circuit for this afternoon's meeting.  Maximum field sizes of 10.  One trainer who's copped a nasty draw opined "I might as well stay home".

Anyone had to deal with these critters?  Carpet moth larvae.  And sure are destructive.

vadim, as you'd be well aware, there are lots of people in racing who stand on their "principles"...if they think they should not pay, they won't.

I agree. I was just being flippant

The fact that it wasn't freely available is mind boggling.

Shouldn't imagine it will help SKY in their current negotiations with Qld re media rights - but you would know more about that than me :)

Eagle Farm's collection of racing history has been recognised by the National Library of Australia and has awarded a grant to ensure the thousands of valuable items are catalogued.

Some of the old paintings, photographs, etchings, etc, are truly magnificent.

Very pleasing to me that these things won't be lost to the racing community and public at large.   :clap2:

Re the Moth.  See a pest controller, they can spray for the critter.  Ya also gotta be vigilant removing the egg sacks / larvae stage in the photo to break the cycle.  They start appearing on ceilings and cornices, but will also be under furniture and in cupboards.   The real damage is going on under the furniture or in low traffic areas of carpet near walls and windows.

Good luck.

Poor man in early stages of dementia no doubt.

DD when the sun comes up you will note you have sleepwalked onto the new paddock next to the house where you sprayed the roundup.

Go back inside, wash your feet and call the pest man.  Hope you were wearing pyjamas.

DD is respected here and elsewhere for his accurate tipping.  These days he uses video analysis but in the days there was no such thing, he used to get his info straight from the source.  The bloke paying so much attention to his tip sheet in this pic had already won a couple of Melbourne Cups too.
