   Norton

Is that Ernie talking to Tommy?  I'd probably backed their horse and didn't like what I was hearing. :chin:

But weren't they GREAT days on a racetrack. :no1:

Probably a bit earlier, westie. :chin:

Norton might know - although these days he's forgetting to take his Laxettes, even.

The bloke is TJ's brother but not Ernie.  It was the nice one who died way too early.  There were three in the team, Tom, Ern and .......

Decisions to be made about that champion steed, Nastro Blu.

We wanna run him on grass and is in two Mdns at Royal Ipswich on Friday.  But he's not well in at the weights.  On Friday night there's a 1400 QTIS Plate on at the Cushion.  No stars in the field.  On performances to date, he'd wanna go close or he's not worth much.

Can we still park in Hampden St parking lot midweek?

I got a few things to do today but the first race is not till 1258hrs so I might be able to make it for the first three or four races today.

Haven't seen the new Doomben yet so it might be a good time to look.

Talking about parking . . Remember in the 50's & 60's when many of  the good citizens of Hammo would get their rates money (or more), by using their back yards as parking lots @ 2 bob a pop  . . . probably illegal now . . . not that there is a need

No wonder we refer to them as the good old days

... and 2 bob a place (with a bookie in the "flat") Cheongsam '62(?) C-Cup @33's saved me a long walk home

They were still renting out the yards around the tracks in the very late 70's.It cost me $5 in there one day. I reckon there wasn't enough room to fit a moped in the yard he had that many in there.

I parked inside today at Hampden St, but you could have got a park out on the street no worries.

I didn't think she could win, Matt, so I cop it between the eyes.

Watched the race with a mate who'd backed the 2nd horse.  At the furlong I proffered "Martha's will weaken".  At the 100 my mate replied "No she :censored: won't".

Mrs Waterhouse confirms that Dick Smith is correct.  Indeed he is the person TJ was speaking to in the photo above.
