With a new born on the way towards the end of the spring carnival (at this stage Cox Plate week), I've decided to invest $250 into my savings account and wagering half the bank, see if I can find one horse to back each week.

I'm not married yet. We decided to wait until the baby was born so that the other half wasn't too pregnant to fit into the wedding clothes.

Thanks for the kind wishes.

I must admit that my start has been far better than I thought it would.

From my opening bank of $250 I've netted:

1. $125 * $3.00
2. $250 * $2.10

which now has the bank with $775 and to be honest I am too scared to bet half the bank this week. Not that I am worried of generally losing a large sum of money as I've done so on many occassions, but moreso the reason for the investment in the first place so what I may do is the following:

1. remove the inital bank of $250 so that I'm now punting on profit alone (and hope that it may continue)
2. remove $275 from the remaining $525 and bank it in my reserve bank, which will then leave me with $250 which was my inital wager. If I can triple the money again from the inital $250, then I'll bank the money and start from the inital $250. On the flip side, if I reach a stage where my bank is less than $100, I will then top it up from my reserve bank (which I hope doesn't happen).

reserve bank $275
current bank $250

Yeah, but was looking for some value. Not an easy for for mine but still ahead so no complaints from me. Was actually going to back Whobegotyou but not at the current quote of $1.55 although I do think we wins.

nice to return to the winners circle. Managed to get $2.37 for the winner with the top fluc.

current bank $210.63
reserve bank $275.00

I received a set back on Monday morning when a scan of the little one showed it to be underweight. Will know more after our scan this Monday but it appears as though mum has pre-clampsia which is affecting the growth.

Thanks mate and there is no reason why it shouldn't be. Currently weighing 1.6kgs when it should be approx 2kg; however, is quite active and in no trouble. May have to be put into a crib at birth but will know more on Monday.

Went for a scan today and the baby is still not growing due to the pre eclampsia so tomorrow is the caesarean. Hoping that all is OK and that the weight will improve.
