Dunno which part of the world ya reside in, winner, but with new cars I have bought recently, they, too, had the same deal.

The "service" is provided by RACQ in Qld - to which I also subscibe.  Contact RACQ and they maintain your membership for a token amount.  Then if ya keep the car longer than the free service bit, ya start up again with RACQ at regular rates.

Worrying case.

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/technology/8414531/facebook-helping-tourettes-plague-spread

Videos posted on Facebook by sufferers of a mysterious Tourette's-like illness in New York state could be helping the mysterious affliction spread, according to a doctor.

Fourteen teenagers, mostly girls aged between 13 and 18, and a 36-year-old nurse have displayed the Tourette’s-like symptoms of tics and verbal outbursts since the first case in October last year.

Dr David Lichter, professor of neurology at the University of Buffalo, said the LeRoy residents may be unconsciously mimicking the symptoms when they see videos uploaded by sufferers on YouTube and Facebook, the Daily Mail reports.

"It's remarkable to see how one individual posts something, and then the next person who posts something not only are the movements bizarre and not consistent with known movement disorders, but it's the same kind of movements," Dr Lichter said.

"This mimicry goes on with Facebook or YouTube exposure. This is the modern way that symptomology could be spread."

The cause of the illness remains a mystery — theories include that the illness is the result of a chemical spill in the 1970s or a kind of OCD linked to strep throat.

Some doctors have suggested it could be caused by a mass psychogenic illness triggered by stress and spreading unconsciously through mimicry.

"When one has a symptom, it can be reinforced and magnified with other individuals with similar symptoms," said Dent Neurologic Institute chief of neurology Dr Laszlo Mechtler.

"That's what's going on with these girls. They are in a segregated small rural town in New York state. They are a cohesive group. And this wildfire of symptoms takes control."

Parents of the affected children have asked why soil around a gas well near the school had not been tested for contamination.

Cricket was called off on Saturday (local council closed the parks Friday night :( ) so took my son to buy his rugby boots for the new season.

My cunning plan (Ala Baldrick) was to buy him fluorescent boots so I knew exactly where he was on the field at all times. (All the kids look the same with their head gear on.)

On sunday we trotted off to the local "try outs" where every kid was wearing fluorescent boots.

Your son should count his lucky stars.

Don't you remember Changa's Grand Final?

Proud sporting moment occurred in the winner household this weekend.   :)

For the first time this season my son was sent out to open the innings for his under 11's team.

After a few anxious moments trying to get off the mark. He stood up and smacked his first ever six sending it sailing well over the square leg boundary

Then after a few minutes celebrating the momentous event and to prove it wasn't a fluke he lined and sent the next one flying over the fine leg boundary for another six!!!!!

Absolutely brilliant..... :) :) :)

Love this song.

It really should be renamed the denier anthem.

When confronted with the truth that climate change is real just stick your fingers in your ears and chant lalalalala can't hear you.
