I was unsure where I should post these two versions of the ABBA song The Winner Takes  It All , so I decided this would best site on the forum.
The first is the original by ABBA , the second is by Joey Niceforo, who you probably have never heard of, but I know which is the better version. Any thoughts ?

Joey has a pleasant and capable voice but after checking with a few more of his songs the arrangements suck.

The Abba song wasn't broken and doesn't need fixing.

Presumably title changing is a perk for the illuminati?

Meanwhile this is not the original, but the first one with the memorable spoken bridge.

Jeunes, from my fading memory I think Carly Simons  wrote that song about Warren Beatty... hang on my memory is not bad here it is....

"The song is a critical profile of a self-absorbed lover about whom Simon asserts "You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you." The title subject's identity has long been a matter of speculation, with Simon stating that the song refers to three men, only one of whom she has named publicly, actor Warren Beatty".

You’re So Vain is about one-time Hollywood lothario Warren Beatty. But only the second verse (“You had me several years ago when I was still quite naïve/Well you said that we made such a pretty pair/And that you would never leave…”). Verses one (the yacht guy) and three (the Lear jet man)? She isn’t telling.

Not sure and first time I heard the song you’re so vain in the 80s, I liked the rhythm.

What about the song below?

Which version?

It was a bit uncool to say you liked Abba in my day, but all respect should go to the songwriters........plus they could really sing.

Without You was a massive hit for Harry Nilsson..... many people never heard the original.
Pete Ham and Tom Evans from Badfinger, who wrote the song sadly died broke.....(both suicided)

Most songwriters end up broke as usually they sold it cheap.

Another interesting one below and honestly one of the songs you could listen to from different artists and truly put your money on your favourite.  Sinatra, Presley, Bocelli, Robbie Williams and Celine Dion sing different versions.

My recall of the Abba period that they appealed more to girls - the same sort who liked the Bay City Rollers.

Our iconic band of the era was The Rolling Stones.

They released Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main Street and a fantastic album called Goats Head Soup in consecutive years, and another gem called Some Girls in 1978.

This beautiful song was on Goat's Head Soup

Did not realise that Neil Diamond did a version of this before UB40 came on the scene.
