The garbage program purporting to be about V'landys was actually a garbage over long promo for the garbage Everest.
In case anyone needs reminding the fatal flaw is that the majority of slot holders will end up fielding duds who have little hope of even recovering expenses.
The Everest only holds interest for fat cat slot holders prepared to squander money in the hope of getting advertising coverage.
Rational people have no reason to get involved.
Thaks for posting that link jfc.
One of the best shows I've watched on racing on commercial FTA.
How inspiring is the story of Peter Piras - the most conspicuous owner in the Redzel syndicate. Gave his prizemoney to his mum and dad who own a restaurant down in Wollongong.
Peter V'Landys came out to Australia from Greece as a 4yo and his father worked where I used to work - down on the Port Kembla steelworks. His Dad worked 18-20 hour shifts like a lot of migrants from that area did. Great work ethic and strong family values and his son certainly has those qualities.
Has universal respect in the industry and even Lloyd Williams paid him a compliment when he said RVL should recruit him at any price (or words to that effect).
Following a few of the slot holders looking for horses was fascinating.
A great 40 minutes viewing in spite of the ads
