You trying out for a career at 2GB ?   I wouldn't surprised if there is a vacancy shortly ...

You shouldn't presume to speak for 'everybody' by the way.  You are bound to be disappointed...

More personal stuff!!

Thought this would happen. That is why I split the topics so people could discuss the racing without being trolled.

You obviously don't read all of my posts (Jones' criticisms included).

Keep it coming fellas - I have a thick skin and am used to being flamed by Victorians and Queenslanders on this forum. It is good sport

I reckon 299,000 of the 300,000 "signatures" are from jealous non NSW residents. Certainly a quick survey of the regular forum members from NSW that I know of, I reckon you have got 1 out of about 10 - maybe 2 - not sure what Mair's position is. Not even sure Perter knows.

Go to bed.  Get some sleep.       Try to think of something other than the slot race and what a cock up it has become.  You are making a goose of yourself.

By the way since the petulant division of the threads there have been more than 50 additional posts to the original thread and just 6 to the 'race' thread.  And 2 of those had nothing to do with the race.   So where are all those posters busting to talk about the slot race ?   Why was the split justified ?

The sooner the race is done and dusted the happier everyone will be.

As stated before umpteen times I work late shifts looking after the internet carriage for a large ISP. Anyone with reasonable intelligence could probably look at my posts and deduce that without me having to state it for the second time tonight.

There is nothing wrong with splitting thread if some people want to talk about Alan Jones and some don't.

As for you stating that I am making a "goose of myself" - what can I say.

If having to put up with people whinging and whining all the time about nothing really and the personal abuse that comes with pointing this out to a particular type of social media personality - well maybe I am a goose for tolerating it.

It is exactly the issue and one which the Heron apologists are avoiding.

Why is she allowed to carry on like such a hypocrite?

Why hasn't she ordered the Opera Bar to stop any Melbourne Cup luncheons if she (and her ilk) are so concerned about the promotion of gambling?

I think it is time they moved her on. Let her try and get a job in Private Enterprise instead of being (yet another) politically correct wannabe sucking on the taxpayers teat.
Still no evidence of any effort by you to mend your ways.

It is not up to you to define the issue.

It is up to evidence.

Plenty of evidence around, particularly in the comments accompanying the 311,321 petitioners.

Where we see a number of issues.

And if you actually tried to seek the truth you'll find that Herron was right on the money!

Not the issue!

Seems to me there were many issues at play in the 80% against, and the 311,121 petitioners.

And more than I mentioned, such as a valid concern about animal cruelty.

This seems to be the Samsung display in question.

Not sure why anybody would object to it.

For those into such stuff it's probably a fulfilling artistic experience.

From the horses mouth. It was used to advertise their phone

Garry McGregor, Vice President of IT and Mobile, Samsung Australia said, “Samsung is all about creating epic moments that use our technology to defy barriers and to do things they never thought possible.
“There’s no better place to showcase the power of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ than at one of Australia’s largest and most exciting events: Vivid Sydney. What we’re doing at Luna Park and the Sydney Opera House Forecourt is truly unique and I encourage everyone to come and experience it for themselves.”

From Ms Heron
The Opera House partnership will play a large role in the launch of the highly anticipated Galaxy S4 smartphone, successor to the extremely successful Galaxy S3 launched last year. Beyond “planning for a very successful launch,” Lenior would not be drawn on further marketing plans for the S4.

Aaaah. Now we have lost the argument we resort to the personal stuff.

As people who know me will confirm I have a job that entails a lot of after hours work. So thanks for the gratuitous advice about sleep anyway but you are wrong yet again.

I have posted twice that I thought Jones' attack on Herron was unacceptable and he should apologize.

Not having a good night mare we nemesis.

What state do you live in again (think it is the third time I have had to ask you that).

Just trying to get a handle on how many of the 300k actually live in NSW. Going by this forum not many it would seem.

For sure compare "Wallerism" to "Weirism" ...no difference.
Hard workers......no question.

It's  more the fact of the power they have over the industry.

As racing battles to have the same sort of relevance it once had, it is clear that  the racing industry only wants good publicity.

Racing NSW's demands it........Who wants to under the control of bullies?

Doesn't the betting on that race suggest a bit of a smell to you?

BTW I live 80km from Sydney.

This is the Badu Gili experience accompanying that Samsung Galaxy S9 launch.

Doesn't do much for me.

But what exactly is objectionable about it!

What are you hoping to achieve with these dumb questions!

If that is the full extent of the experience then no one at the intended viewing spot would even be aware of Samsung's role.

I believe I already told all I have no trouble with sponsorship, hence commercialisation or advertising.

Huge breaking news in today's herald.

Australia now has two races that stop the nation.......all this before the 2nd running.
But wait ....there's more!..... all the slot holders including the Tab and the ATC have taken advantage of the wonderful tax break this race affords them by committing for another year.

Considering the author Adam Pengilly derives most of his income from the race sponsor surely some disclosure is required here.

Anyone who attended Vivid would have well and truly know that the it was sponsored by Samsung, the whole forecourt where you entered that part had massive Samsung banners & they had a big interactive display to walk through. You couldn't escape it ......

You know me jfc. Always wanting to learn off you "how to think" so I can mend my ways.

But you banned me from asking you any questions, don't you remember?

And it looks like wily has now been banned also.

What are you hoping to achieve with these dumb questions!

How can we be expected to improve our thinking to come more in line with your thoughts, which we all know are so much superior to everyone else's.

Does the ban on asking you any questions have any shelf life?

Bringing racing into disrepute,

.......  a couple of observations in todays media

“The controversy reflects the broader unsavoury influence of gambling on Australia’s media, sports and politicians,” he said.

“Perhaps they could rebrand The Everest. Let’s just cut to the chase and call it Vesuvius. This year they cratered it and splattered excrement across the country.”

“The NSW government will be very careful about doing anything like that again in the future.”

I don't think the blinkers have worked.

Maybe a hood over his head as he enters the stalls or perhaps he just needs to be gelded to settle him down a bit

This was the opening of the Stella Artois Caulfield Cup carnival his week.

Note the advertising signs used on the beach where young people gather and what the wowsers would say exposes them to gambling.

Vlandys has done a good job with NSW Racing and lifted it’s profile considerably. However even Racing NSW as I keep saying has finally admitted it underestimated the backlash and will not do it again.

AJ admitted to an apology of sorts while Gladys has stated she will rethink the policy etc. The only one who has not stated anything yet is Vlandys. Vlandys wrote a piece in SMH which stated the Everest was not about gambling when he defended the sails ads which was laughable as it was before the Everest Vivid show. I am yet to see anyone defend this or his supporters admit this was wrong which shows a warped sense of reality.

Now I am a Sydneysider but think all OH advertising is wrong as no boundaries are set. I am not the only who thinks that and nor do I have a dislike of Vlandys as his supporters think of anyone who does not agree with his views.

This episode has hurt a few reputations and it will time to fix in the eyes of the general public.

Jeunes, I'm on record as despising V'Landys for his carry on over the greyhound ban, I handed in my ATC membership after 15 years due to his actions and when asked I told them exactly why and make sure they write it down!

That said I'll defend what happened this week, not because I supported it but because it would have been hypocritical not to allow it considering what they had allowed previously.
