Winner in race 6 and a nice tip in race 7 Ledger (20-1 2nd beaten 1.6L).   emthup

For the Jungle Juice Cup at Cessnock today, O'Crikey looks tossed in with 5.5kg above the limit and barrier 6. Nothing else has form that approaches his. $2.90 on fixed odds looks inviting. Mt Vesuvius and Afforestation for the exotics.

Stablemate Surge Draw in race 7 looks hard to hold out.

I thought Canny Finch first up in the dash over 900m in race 5 would be hard to hold out, but then looked at the weight (64 kg!). #6 in that race, Dark Avenue, has a 3/1/1/0 record, but is resuming after a 3 year spell!! Co-incidentally, his last start he ran 2nd to Ballymorough (#2). Might settle on Grey Thunder, #12 with a 10 kg pull in the weights over the toppie.

Parlaying these up today  at Muswellbrook - Dead Track listed.

R4 #1 Leicester Square
R5 #10 Penteli
R7 #10 Vitasol
R8 #2 Platinum Choice

Leicester Square ran in an innocuous 5 horse 3yo race back on the 20th Feb at Rosehill over 1500m.

Winner Rock Classic went on to win the G1 Australian Guineas. LC ran 4th and won 1st up last start. 5th horse Samui Lad won first up last week at Wyong. 2nd horse Shadow Minister hasn't gone too badly either.

Well my army of fans got 3 winners, even if they did start short  :shy:

Plenty of winners tomorrow at Grafton. Been tipped one first up that will be about 33's.

Integrand has a failure on its only heavy track appearance, despite that I am going to have go at it.

Grandera's in the wet tickle my fancy.

In the last from Muswellbrook.

Umpire Bird in the Muswellbrook Cup tomorrow. Looks a good thing.

Not as much confidence, but Spirilina in the Skelletar Sprint.

Heading out to Port races today

Hotshot Hayil has been a good earner and runs around in the last - listed at $9 in today's paper.

Hackers in Race 6 won't be a big price but looks the goods.

Would have been an interesting match up mate but they were in different races

Hope you had something on each way   emthup

Had a funny day. 2nd bet of the day, jag 27% of the 5th race trifecta then proceeded to get zilch for the rest of the day. Had Daily Dubs running at Ipswich - Rim Of Fire desparately unlucky, and Gundagai - Grand Rhumba - now I don't know if anyone watched that race, but is a good instruction in why you should be careful backing 4 kg claiming apprentices. Poor young fella couldn't handle the horse and it goes down by a lip.

Port is a very narrow track, especially when the rail is out 2m. Note to self: Barriers, barriers, barriers at Port.

In the aforementioned Race 5, there were 5 female apprentices riding in the race and they filled the first 5 placings over the line in a field of 14. Must be some sort of record

Girls have a much better record than there numbers suggest they should, they are on average better riders than the boys, the main reason I believe is they know their limitations and rarely need to Waste as hard as the boys so in fact are stronger and they don't move around on a horse as much as boys tend to when inexperienced, not comparing them with the Rawillers/Oliver/Brown etc though Lindop, O'hara, Payne etc can hold their own against anyone

Kembla Race 8 #4 Truth On Toe probably the best bet around the country today. 2nd to Shamash in town last start at only it's 3rd start, and finds itself in a maiden at the provincials today.

Not as certain, but #4 Gallein in the 7th is having it's 2nd start for G Begg. Ran 4th in town at it's only start.

Have these marked out for Port tomorrow.

Race 5 #8 Our Stawell Gift is a track record holder here, down in the weights. Drawn the rail.

Race 7 #4 Sarkozy won well when I was there on the 12th and cannot see any reason he won't win again. #7 Jestachenka and #12 Hotshot Hayil for the exotics.

Race 8 #14 Confident was a strong winner in a maiden on the 12th. 3yo going for BOBS and well placed here.

In the last at Taree, #3 Midnight At Ascot was beaten 3.6 lengths two starts ago into 3rd by the "it" horse from yesterday, Sincero.

#8 Star Of Filante was beaten 5.3 lengths in the same race.

#10 Oh I Know bolted in last start in a BM50 for F&M.

1, 7 and 12 for exotics.

Mention Dubbo and I think of KFC.   One of the only towns that I know that has a KFC on either side of the highway.

Son and I always look forward to Dubbo when travelling that way.

Hopefully can find a winner there today.

I'll see what odds I can get on fixed odds the place in Race 3 on this one--REALLY VEXING
