Before yesterday was 24:2-1-2 and last campaign finished in the back 3 all 6 starts bar one a 5th at Toowoomba.

Came from the Bruce Hill stable. Sure they wouldn't have paid much for it and the $4k earned yesterday would just about have paid for it you would think.

Targetted a few races at the Sapphire Coast (Bega) tomorrow.

Race 2

Form comes from two races.

If you watch the Wagga maiden on Everest Day, it is hard to get enthused about anything other than the favourite #5 Giocoso. Given it is set weights there is no advantage for the beaten brigade. #8 Boxing went OK as did #7 Lots Of Dosh but Giocoso had them covered.

The race is worth watching if for nothing else than counting the number of cliches Alan Hulls uses when calling Boxing (punches up, fighting on, etc). I counted 4.

The other form race is a 1600m maiden at Moruya. The horse that ran 5th, #2 Mr Dreamy, was 3 deep the entire journey until the jockey decided to sprint up before the turn and actually was clear on the turn. Amazing effort to run as close as it did. Looks to have "clicked" at it's 6th start and the $9 each way appeals although I suspect the form at Wagga was stronger.

Race 3

There are 12 horses.

#1 is scratched.
#5 and #6 are unraced and their trials appear unremarkable

Put a line through every other runner except the bottom two because of atrocious form and you are left with the only two chances.

#11 Let Me Guess is a 22 start maiden but has 10 placings with previous trainer Ross Dawson. Now with Nick Olive.
#12 Michael Oscar is first up for new trainer Theresa Bateup and it's 6 Victorian starts were good enough for this. Looked good in a recent trial.

I've taken those two first and 2nd in the trifecta and put the bolters in for third because anything could run 3rd.

Race 4

#1 Loudaz came from near last on debut over a 1000m at Wagga and blew them away. Big horse who looks promising and the extra 200m should be in his favour.

Noticed the horse that ran 2nd to him is in a maiden at Wagga on Friday so I've taken $10+ about the both of them winning.

I’m always scared when pp names 4 or 5 in a race and none are mine😀

Race 2 # 10 Shrug is the one for me.

Comes out of the Mr Dreamy race and savaged the line after been poleaxed at the 200m. Been crying out for the mile on the back of some good placings over shorter trips

Sadly it’s in from $5 opening to $3.20 but should start better on the tote........I hope

I also have a slight curiosity about the plodding stayer, Yeppoon in the last. Non winner but freshened and back to 1400. Might sneak home along the rails for a place at nice odds

Also unders on the current fixed.

Well tipped Shrug mate.

I got the next two races right but will have to wait until tomorrow to see if I collect.

Hope they take Loudaz to Randwick or Rosehill for a Highway.

Big fella takes a while to get his motor warmed up but boy does he have a finishing sprint on him.

Is by Written Tycoon but looks like he would be suited by 1400m or even a mile.

Blew like a gale out to $4. They backed this thing called Gossips into favourite but it ran last.

ILE DE RE Is the one for me but Crimson Hoffa is right in it as well

Diamonds for Alice in the 4th each way and Tully Toff in the 6th look good value

Horse that knocked me over in that last race was 40s into 7s - Walingi. Only start was 8th of 11 at Gundagai then spelled - no official barrier trial.

Trainer has a 16% strike rate in his last 50 runners. Looks like he has about half a dozen in work.

After Sophiella was held up I thought the racing Gods would give me a break and let him through but not to be.

...and wasn't it great to see Prince Of Arran backing up from his 2nd in the Melbourne Cup to win the Class 1 at Lismore today.

Was tossed in with 59.5 kg

Bong Bong Cup on today.

Runners from the Waterhouse and Baker stables, and even Scott Brunton has the Tasmanian Our Shanakee in the race.

A lot more subdued meeting these days than the debauchery that used to go on in the 80's.

Congratulations to the forum member who selected (and shared) his tips on The Gong.

He tipped them 2-7-1-15

They came in 1-15-2-7

In Qld the winner paid $24.40/$6.20, the tri $1,116 & the F4 $11,672 and he had a bit of everything I'm told

the fav will be hard to toss although as some tipsters have noticed 7 may be 50mtrs too far ?

with heaps of speed do that many horses cut at each other setting it up for run ons

anyway if they decide to hand up I like the 15 for a slot

rain has stopped at this stage and the new track is a sponge

more thoughts tomorrow but at this stage I will do something with 1,3,4,6,7,15

With the prospect of a wet track hard to do the form.

#11 down you can probably put a line through.

Interesting runner the #2 - 7yo mare having first Australian start for Waller. 3rd in the Captain Cook. 7yo mare getting the second topweight doesn't look good.

Seaway meets Gaulois 4 kg better for getting beat 1.8 lengths in the 2019 Civic Stakes on a Heavy 9 - not that will mean much if the track gets to a Heavy 9.

No horses by Not A Single Doubt at the meeting. Portelli has one in Race 2 by Adelaide which is getting some good stats on wet track runners.

One of the more interesting runners on the day at Narromine is the big dark filly R3 #13 Ellia. 3rd maternal dam is 5 time international Group 1 winner Habibti and you are getting into some breeding royalty after that. Habibti's dam Klairessa produced Eight Carat and Great Klaire then we are into Octagonal, Lonhro, Telesto, Bononava, Mouawad, Kaapstaad, Tristalove, Don Eduardo, Peruzzi and you could go on.

Ellia was not extended in her trial 2nd and strange she has ended up at Scone with Simon Casey training for Glastonbury Farm. Never went to the sales and was withdrawn from the 2017 Great Southern weanlings.

Black horses with that lineage should be taken seriously.

Times have certainly changed. I remember when we used to take some to Orange and Bathurst and you would, unluckily, bump into a Fastnet or Redouttes. Now you can’t avoid well bred horses.

The one I liked in the race is Shwanky Doo. It’s from the Triscay, La Baraka family
