Tough race to rate.

Track is a Good 4 at this point. Cutoff point for the Handicapper's ratings is 93 i.e. those who are rated at less than 93 would be carrying less weight (1 kg for every 2 rating points) if there were no limit. These horses don't win very often although it does happen.

Waller and Lees have 6 of the 13 runners and it would be a short price that the winner will come from one of those two.

1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in no particular order.

Tough race.

All the speed is in barrier 10 or wider. Not sure what will happen early.

Last year Scotty be Gotti ran hopeless first up and came in fifth in this race 2nd up.

A couple of dollars each way at $150

Sorry mate. I guess I've gone past the point of the quaddie  :shy:

Forget the 5. Drawn out halfway to Oberon and only won one race from 17 gos.

8 drawn to be in the finish.

Strong pace and run on horses brings the old fella #2 into it.

How beautiful is that German mare Attention Run.

Officially listed as Grey or Black her tail and mane have flecks of grey through them that make her stand out.

Nice run in the Wyong Cup but I don't think she will win this.

Races delayed at Wyong.

Someone has entered the course illegally and police called. Not sure if "the course" is the public area or if some streaker is running around the track - God I miss the old days when the latter used to happen. There is a famous photo of Doncaster Day one year.

Big couple of days coming up for Port Mac

I’ve got 8 Blackbookers and a lot are in the same races. Buggered if I know how I’ll seperate them.
A scary prospect

Savacool, seems a popular pickin the cup from our comp selections. Rightfully so given the horrible ride last start

I can see #6 Entente leading or just off the pace. Not much pressure up front.

Just not enamoured to $1.65 about a horse who has not won out of restricted grade.

#4 Savacool will go back from the barrier and should be running on. $7/$2 fixed probably only fair value though.

In fact bar the bottom two, you could make a case for most of these. Pretty interesting runner the #10 Knight's Order

Thought there were a few interesting runners at Port today.

R2 #7 Rhianna Belle - a lot to like about the old grey mare's trial and this is not strong for her debut.
R2 #13 Night Of Mayhem cost $350k at MMs

R3 #11 Sian - sensational trial when 2nd. Looks to be thereabouts in the formlines for two starts to date. First up.

R4 #4 Gironde - watch this horse's first up replay and tell me you don't want to be on. 2 starts 2 wins second up. Bookies are on to him however.

R6 #10 Acoustix - will need luck from the draw but think it can win first up. Worth a bet at the $21

I like #5 Petaluma in this. Think the first two home in the Bateman's Bay Cup (a BM 66) were a bit above the rest and Petaluma drops 6 kg for this. Drawn to get a nice run. Only lightly raced and already won 4 from 12 with 3 placings.

Gunnedah Cup winner #2 Manabar 3rd run back should be at his top.

Dubbo Cup winner #1 Zaunkonig is a chance as is the Western Districts Country Champion (5th in the final) #3 Westlink.

Didn't look like a lot of speed on paper - presuming Zaunkonig takes it up with Manabar taking the sit behind him. Wouldn't surprise to see Bullock bring Westlink over to sit outside the leader and hoping Mo's Glory snares that 1/1 spot ahead of Petaluma. Liked the way Mo's hit the line last start in provincial grade off a 4 week break - will throw a bit of loose change in her direction at the $8.

Good Luck!

Dunn backs new arrival Pieloce to show her class
MURWILLUMBAH
SHAYNE O’CASS

MATTHEW Dunn has accepted with 13 runners at Murwillumbah on Monday and says stable recruit Pieloce is his best.

The daughter of Pierro and Group 3 SAJC National Stakes winner Vivi Veloce has raced five times, all of them with her previous trainer Bjorn Baker, including a debut win at Kembla in November last year.

“Obviously it is her prep with me and I don’t know her very well but from what I have seen of her at home and in her trial, she is a fair bit better than where she is going on Monday. She will end up at least Brisbane Saturday grade,’’ Dunn said.

“She has got lots of talent and maybe she is a bit more settled at home than what she has been in the past because she has been at city tracks.

“We will see how she races of course but her trial was really strong and she ran good time and was never, ever asked to quicken. One trial is good for her because she doesn’t carry huge amounts of weight.’’

Dunn trained the first four winners the last time they raced at Murwillumbah and is in line to ‘bookend’ Monday’s meeting with a couple of horses in the Darby Bloodstock colours.

First of the duo to race is Uprise who has been costly to follow with eight placings from 14 starts and the beaten favourite four times.

That said, Uprise has only had three runs for Dunn and went within a whisker of winning first time out under the new management.

“He chases really well but as soon as he gets to the front he sort of floats and looks around and does all the things to get himself beat,” Dunn explained.

“I would like to see him, not all the way back, but if we can ride him just behind the speed and wait, wait, wait, and then give him the last shot.
“The talent is there. It’s just getting him to focus a bit better.”

As for Divine Diva, this (almost) three-quarter-sister to Criterion is set to peak after a couple of near misses at her first two runs for Dunn. “She just needs a bit of luck but it looks the right race,” he said.

ENDS

Might be worth a punt if he's any sort of a judge   :king:

Giddy Up

I was ready to put this horse as a banker in a few parlays - not now. Don't like this at all.

Trainer Reports To Stewards - It's Me (Randwick, Saturday)

Trainer Brett Cavanough has reported to Racing NSW Stewards this morning that IT'S ME, an acceptor in race 5 (no.14) The Kosciuszko, was subject to an endoscopic examination yesterday afternoon after coughing when exiting the pool following a swim.

The endoscopic examination revealed very mild mucus and the mare was treated with antibiotics. A blood test for health assessment returned normal with no sign of infection.

Mr Cavanough has advised the mare's training program has not been altered in any way.

A further endoscopic examination will be performed on the mare on Friday to review its response to the treatment, the results of which will be reported to Racing NSW Stewards and Veterinarians for assessment to determine its suitability to race in The Kosciuszko.

It's Me - Passed Suitable To Race At Randwick (Sat)

Trainer Brett Cavanough has provided Racing NSW Stewards with the results of a blood test of IT'S ME for health assessment, which returned within normal parameters and has advised an endoscopic examination performed this morning has confirmed the mare has responded well to treatment and there was no presence of mucus.

Accordingly, It’s Me has been passed suitable to start in The Kosciuszko at Royal Randwick on Saturday (17th October).

Did someone ask the mare and she confirmed that she had "responded well to treatment"?

Shouldn't be running IMO. $2.25 favourite.

Cannot find out what happened to Front Page. Geoff Duryea was reported on racing.com four days ago saying he was hoping for a good draw. Looks like the slotholders have subbed in the bottom one Prairie Fire.

#9 Two Big Fari at $16 is worth an each way bet. Won 6 from 9 and two placings - the only unplaced effort being the Country Championship Final where he ran 5th.

Cody Morgan was talking up the chances of #8 Ligulate the other day and on his day could win this.

#14 It's Me, if it weren't for the mucus, I would have declared her. Still have to keep her in the chances.

Man Of Peace has raced against and beaten much better opposition than the others here.
He’ll do me with Handle the Truth the danger

Sad that a Front Page isn’t in  :tears:

“Trainer Mr Geoff Duryea has reported to Racing NSW Stewards this morning that Front Page has sustained injuries to the near side eye and off hind leg when the gelding became fractious while being floated,“ a Racing NSW stewards statement read.
