Tim Martin has a 2YO first starter in R4 a open maiden tomorrow ROCANCOURT, big impressive trialer but geez tough ask to go up against a couple of horses 2x-3x it's age.

Its bred to be very very fast, its grand mother is the very speedy MagiC Music.

At the weights it is very very poorly weighted, it says set weights, how would a December 2yo have 54 kgs ?

Unless they finished with in a head of each other the handicapper was not intending anything of the sort.

: In what could be a world first, runners competing in the final race at Dubbo yesterday finished in racebook order – all nine of them.

The seventh race (Denise's Bra & Lingerie Class 3 Handicap, 1600m) was taken out by Miss Reed ($5.50), who downed the favourite Hinterland ($1.80) by a neck.

The remaining runners then came past the post in handicapping (or racebook) order.

"What would be the odds about this happening?" said racecaller & journalist, Colin Hodges.

"It defies belief that nine horses could go around in a 1600-metre race and finish exactly as the handicapper 'intended'. I've seen a couple of five and six-horse fields finish in order, but never a nine-horse field."

The complete finishing order was:-

1st-No.1 Miss Reed (Greg Ryan, $5.50)
2nd-No.2 Hinterland (Kody Nestor, $1.80)
3rd-No.3 Flash Academy (Kacie Chater, $13)

Will give Russwillcrow one more chance at Wagga R8 today. Was disappointing last start after being unlucky two runs back.

Voice Commander is double digit odds in race 7 at the moment, and appeals each way.

R3 #11 Mettaya has ordinary form, but they all do in that race. Was unlucky last start (see race report) and is over 20-1, so worth a small each way wager.

Rado Boljun's best could be Kiss My Fuji in race 4.

Ok mate, I have had something ew and also roved it with the field for the trifecta. Might be some Christmas joy in it.

Good luck if you're having a quaddie at Scone today. Looks a tough one.

The #3 Oakfield Sands looks very strong in the first leg, so might stand him out and keep fingers crossed. #13 is not hopeless.

#1, #2, #3 and #4 in the second leg

3rd leg, Paul Messara's lightly raced Zabeel mare, #3 Zabelka, is first up over the 1300m and has very good form. 1, 5, 7 and 10 go in. Sue Grills has #10 Idle Joker who must be some sort of chance.

Last race....God help us.

You tend to want to instantly dismiss #4 Moody Avenue with it's 0x0x form, until you realize one of those 0's was in the Chelmsford! I don't do this often but I'm going to take "The Field".

25-1 shot killed us there triples

Sue Grills didn't win with Border Rebel yesterday but has taken 5 horses over to Gilgandra to race in their Cup meeting today. Might parlay these

Sassy Guru who is a potential top liner goes around in the first at Gilgandra. She gets a mile back and is probably really a 2000m+ horse but if she is as good as I think she is she should handle these first up.

I hope her trainer believes she is as good as I believe she is.

What is a good 2000m race at the Easter carnival for MARES ?

Well Rounded won a G2 mares race over 2000m Flem on Emirates Stakes day.
Sacred Choice won a G2 f+m race over 1600m at Rand,Syd Cup day.

, In other words there is not a middle distance race of that quality available to mares at the Sydney autumn carnival.

Mind you her total lack of early speed today, she would not have any hope of being close enough at any time over any distance in Sydney.

She will make a fine broodmare.

Newcastle Meeting Planned To Relieve Burden On Northern Rivers
Racing NSW has added a race meeting to be staged at Broadmeadow Racecourse (Newcastle) on Tuesday, 11 January 2011 with the fields to be drawn from the Coffs Harbour and Ballina race meetings.

The meeting has been organised as both the Coffs Harbour and Ballina race meetings scheduled for Sunday (9 January) and Tuesday (11 January) appear very unlikely to proceed due to prolonged and heavy rain, in addition to recent losses of racing in the Northern Rivers.

The programme will be a hybrid of the two meetings with the races to be as close as possible as those presently programmed. As an added incentive to participants, the prizemoney for the meeting will be a minimum of $15,000 and the programme is as follows:-

Open Handicap - 1200m
Benchmark 65 Handicap - 1300m ($20,000)
Benchmark 60 Handicap - 1850m
Benchmark 50 Handicap - 1300m
Class 3 Handicap - 900m
Class 2 Handicap - 1300m
Class 1 Handicap - 1400m
Maiden Plate - 1300m
Maiden Plate - 1200m
Maiden Plate - 900m

Horses accepting at the Coffs Harbour and Ballina meetings have been automatically nominated for races with conditions similar to those for which they originally accepted at these meetings. The nominations for this Newcastle meeting can now be viewed by clicking on the following link - Noms for Newcastle (Tuesday, 11 Jan 2011) - (weights will be available later today).

Acceptances will close at 9am on Monday (Note: Trainers who had accepted for Coffs Harbour & Ballina must re-accept with RISA for Newcastle).

Given the uniqueness of the situation, travel rebates of $300 per horse will apply in addition to the appearance fee.
Racing NSW Chief Executive, Peter V’landys, paid tribute to Coffs Harbour Race Club Vice-President, Michael O’Neill, for the concept of the new race meeting which was conceived following discussions with Racing NSW.

“During this prolonged period of wet weather on the North Coast it is important that participants are provided racing opportunities and I thank Mr O’Neill for this innovative solution” Mr V’landys remarked.

Racing NSW also wishes to thank Newcastle Jockey Club for their co-operative approach to staging the meeting at short notice.

One to Watch

Looking a class above the average country juvenile winner is this daughter of champion sire Redoute’s Choice, who thrashed her rivals to win easily on debut at Scone on Thursday.

The Paul Messara trained Tumble Turn gave her rivals no hope as she surged clear to win the 1100 metre dash by close to five lengths as a raging hot favourite.

Tumble Turn (pictured as a yearling) was retained to race by Arrowfield Stud and partners after she passed in shy of her $400,000 reserve at Magic Millions and is the second winner from the former smart juvenile Freestyle, who won the Group II SAJC Breeders Stakes.

Freestyle has a Flying Spur filly entered for the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, produced another colt by Flying Spur last spring and is now in foal to Arrowfield young gun All American.

Tumble Turn is the second juvenile winner for Redoute's Choice this season joining Glissade.
