Partnership had his chance.

My God they left the money in the bookies bag on the fave. Didn't see it even cross the line. Did it start? Started odds on.

That winner #10 Nemingah has now had 12 starts for 3 wins, all those wins coming in the last 4 starts interspersed by a placing at Doomben.

Funny how some horses need a bit of maturity to reach their peak. No reason why he won't win more races but the Cup will be a bit tougher.

2nd day of the carnival and the feature race is the South Grafton Cup.

I'm sticking with the city form so putting a line through numbers 9 through 15.

#5 All But Gone is 3rd run back and carried 54 kg when beaten by Matowi in a BM88 by only 2.9 lengths last campaign. Rises 1.5 kg here and has other form to back that up. If he can achieve that rating he'll go close here. Barrier not a worry because he gets back but as always will need a little pace - there are 3 horses who could lead.

One of those is #1 Jazzland who won one of the heats of a Provincial series last campaign. Is second up and won second up last time at Kenso in a BM72 with 60kg. Drops a kilo here.

Strong chances given to 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8 in a tough race.

Very even field, PP.
I canít have the toppy  in its first up run.
All but Gone has been very good at his 2 runs back but has missed the kick badly both times. Still like him though.

Pleased will grind away and Evopex will appreciate the big drop in weight, drier track and good draw.
Last time he carried such a light weight he was stiff in the Coffs Cup and won the Maclean Cup

Kristen B. gets the quinella.

All But Gone was gone on the turn. Very disappointing run and don't think you can blame the pace.  Has just run more than 10 lengths below his best last campaign.

Jazzland too strong. Led all the way.

Very impressive run by the riderless horse.

You don't often see them go from last to winning by 10 lengths. I assume Ben Looker was fine as he rode the last winner.

27 noms for the Ramornie on Wednesday.

Snitz and Southern Lad who clashed in the June Stks are both in.

Godolphin has sent Haunted up and Snowdens have Hightail and Signore Fox.  Graff will be the Lees main representative.

Toby and Trent are sending the renewed Mr Bellagio down.

Snitz is the early $5 fave ahead of Southern Lad and Graff, Haunted and Hightail.

I had this horse black booked and it went for a short spell.

R3 Gundagai #12 Rock 'N' Tori

Nice run at second start when finished hard along the worst part of the track and ran into a couple of checks.

$7.50 no value first up over the 1000m unfortunately (I only back them if they are over 20-1) but think she can come out of maiden class pretty quickly as the distances get longer.

I'm sticking with the big stables.

#1 Sikandarabad has the visitors draw but wondering if they will come across from the barrier to sit outside the leader.
#9 Zaunkonig, #6 Jazzland and #10 Academy with big chances.

Chances also given to #3, #4 (a Herbert Power winner) and #8.

Backing for #1 and #10 this morning.

I was on Jazzland and thought it was a touch disappointing.

Thanks mate.

It was a big effort by Sikandarabad sitting 3 deep the entire trip but it looks like Sam K. has him going as well as he was at his peak in Melbourne.

And here's hoping that the trainer can put all that stuff behind him now and get on with a long and prosperous training career.

Have had a little each way on Port Mac R7 #Stormstarlet at the $71.

The lightly raced mare can be a handful for jockeys but hoping that Ray Spokes can get the best out of her and at those odds she is way overs.

Recent trial was very good on a Heavy track.

Just like 3 of her previous 4 starts

If she ever jumps she will win.

Back to the barrier trials or she might even get the Chautauqua treatment.
