Very 'fat' rain sweeping through randwick area . Me thinks will be a nice heavy track for red tracer to enjoy

Rain has abated Friday afternoon but heavy dark clouds remain and there is no sign of any sun.

B.O.M. is saying that the chance of rain tomorrow is 6-4 (40%). PoisonPen rates the chance of rain tomorrow at 2-5 so if you can get set then suggest you get on

Unless there is some miraculous improvement, predicting that they will be coming down the outside fence in gangs fighting for the best going.

Not a day for serious punting unfortunately...IMHO.

Very dark. Lots of thunder and rain where we are at the moment.

B.O.M. forecast for Sydney:

Friday

Sydney area
Cloudy. Scattered showers. The chance of thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Light winds.

Saturday

Sydney area
Cloudy. Isolated showers. The chance of thunderstorms in the morning and early afternoon. Winds south to southwesterly and light increasing to 15 to 25 km/h in the morning.

I'm starting to look for "W"'s in the form guide.

That isn't good..........It's great! the heavier the better, will be interesting if the jockeys who call off a midweek Hawkesbury meeting will call off 4 group ones?? I reckon it could get to a heavy 27 and the races will go ahead, I would like a genuine heavy all over track...........not just in parts heavy, parts slow and parts dead like we have been getting lately

I believe the highest rating is 10 anything worse than that would certainly interfere with the safety of animal and human life. Your rating of 27     would certainly see the track into Botany Bay preceeded by all the Eastern Surburbs  :shy:

Hawkesbury is irrelevant to Randwick

Pretty windy in Sydney town this morning, it has been reported as a tailwind down the Randwick home straight.

Overcast with a bit of light rain, which is expected to increase according to the forecast.

Happy Punting.  :)

In what way Gin? If you are an owner who takes a horse to Hawkesbury and the track is damp and the (same) Jockeys call the races off.....you lose........it is the same riders who won't ride in the wet at Hawkesbury who would ride in a snow storm if there is big money races involved........how can you relate danger to money is the better question? when was the last Group One meeting postponed? remember Van Der Hum's Cup? if that had been a provincial meeting would it have gone ahead? It has nothing to do with danger....it is all about the money.....as the Pommes say todays races would be called Yielding in England....not even heavy........I really don't care either way........but at least I recognise the Hippocracy

I didn't think it was that hard to understand  The track conditions at Hawkesbury have no bearing on Randwick and to try and link the to events is fanciful.

Van Der Hum? seriously? that's the best example

Gosford and Grafton abandoned today  :tears:

If this rain keeps up the only NSW race meeting on Saturday will be the Quambone Picnics, wherever the hell that is!

Need a little help interpreting the form.
Would you say Quambone form is up to the level of Gulargambone form or not quite as strong?

Weird weather patterns for this time of the year.
Yesterday we had a mid afternoon thunderstorm and even copped a wee bit of hail.

Absolutely blowing a gale up here today with a chill factor of what seems about 0.
Naturally I'm perched in front of the fireplace at this moment so it's  bareable.  :)

A mate just on the border says it was raining cats and dogs this morning with plenty of flooding around the top end of the Northern Rivers.
Hopefully it doesn't move any further north.
