Thanks, was pretty keen on the big odds offered on Decision Time in the 3rd but no go if too wet.

At this stage it is not drying weather chalky. That could change. It has become cold now

Decision Time eh  :chin:

I have zero faith in the track man at Randwick, It's impossible to predict what he'll serve up but wet form will be the key

Any update on track conditions at Rosehill guys?

They had about 6mm at Sydney Olympic Park which you can see from the Rosehill grandstand.

Are we in for the first fine weather of week one of this year's Championships?

Rain predicted today and Sunday, mate
Some cloud in between so given they usually get their days wrong and given that the track can't seem to handle any rain I suspect it will be affected to some degree

I'm up in Port at the moment and it is raining cats and dogs with no sign of a let up. Is it similar in Sydney or Brisbane?

I see Sydney's weather is being reported as "Rain" and the track is a Soft 6  :/

Well it looks like we throw the form guide out today and find the one who can get to the outside fence first

I just got in from a trip across Sydney from North Ryde to Oyster Bay.

It was one of the slowest trips in spite of the fact there was little traffic at this time.

The rain is coming down in sheets and is unrelenting. Not sure if they are getting it at Rosehill but it was pretty much uniformly bad on my trip.

Cannot see how they could possibly race unless there is some dramatic improvement in the weather which would be an Act of God  :(

Forecast for the rest of Saturday

Summary

Max 24

Showers.Possible rainfall: 10 to 30 mm

Chance of any rain: 100%

Sydney area

Cloudy. Very high (near 100%) chance of showers. Winds southeasterly 25 to 40 km/h decreasing to 15 to 25 km/h in the evening.
Large and powerful surf conditions in the evening are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, swimming and surfing.

At 7.45 a.m. this morning

Rail Position: True Position Entire Circuit
Dual Track Meeting: N
Track Type: Turf
Track Condition: Heavy 8
Weather: Fine
Penetrometer: 6.07

Where I am in Sydney at the moment there are very few clouds in the sky and the sun is beaming.

The forecast is:

Sydney area
Mostly sunny. Slight (20%) chance of a shower in the evening. Light winds becoming south to southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h in the late afternoon.

I'm going to make a big call here and say it will improve from the Heavy 8 before the end of the day.

This is not going to be a "write-off" heavy track.

The weather. Anyone in Sydney noticed how freakin' cold it has been.

I've got one of those indoor-outdoor temperature gauges.

Yesterday at 11.30 a.m. it hadn't risen above 16 degrees.

Today it is 9.30 a.m.. Beautiful day outside. No wind. Sun beaming. And the mercury has just hit 10 degrees.

That is cold for Sydney on a day with no wind or rain.

Must be all those years of burning coal. Now that we have stopped we have upset the equilibrium  :what:

PP7,

According to Winner it's much hotter and your power bill is much cheaper.

If you don't percieve this reality than you are simply biased or right wing.

Mind you his lots perception is so sharp that they get stuck in ice in summer, that they claim is not there in the first place....
