I like Longshoreman because he is one of the bottomweights that is carrying the least amount of weight, as opposed to the topweight who is carrying the most amount of weight.

The number of starters in a race has no bearing on the quality of the field.

I like Streets Away, Although it seems Bem Melham may not be riding him which dents my confidence a little.

Streets Away had to work early in a much stronger race at Moonee Valley (Mourinho, Fast And Free, The United States, Zanbagh) and dropped out. Was 2nd up, and carried 60 kg.

With the same weight and a bit more fitness I think it will be hard to beat here. Each Way if the current $12 fixed reflects the price at post time.

Outlandish Lad is the other one who might improve with fitness and has some Melbourne placings in the formlines - always a positive flag in these SA events.

Longshoreman has failed to replicate his best Sydney form last two starts but is in with a chance on best form.

Of the locals Evenmoreaction rarely runs a bad race and is drawn well.

This race should only have 2 starters....... and one of them should be the pacemaker.
Then and only then..... will it meet the requirements of what an English gentleman considers a quality race.
Until such time, it should only be derided as a scourge that colonialism has infected the Sport OF Kings with.   :tin:
