The laws of libel apply wherever you 'publish' . . including on this forum

I place a fair bit of credibility on his content . . and he has shown that he is prepared to suffer consequences

Sadly to quote a 'wise old jungle saying' : "Most of the martyrs I know are dead . ."

Unfortunately with most of the stories that Archie publishes, we will never know what is true and what is false.

It is upto the reader to make up their own mind similar when we read left and right wing media articles.

Not a journalist............a gambler.... ........... not always 'gambling responsibly'

Astonishing stuff -----entertaining ---- defames at will.

It cannot be true............... the game would be up and never recover.

The empathy has to go with mainstream, hyper-ventilating,  racing-media 'personalities' ..... fitted with tongue-ties, blinkers, stallion chains, et al .............unable to run true to truth...........or out on their ear.

......... the constraints on the racing media make it a joke......the reckoning will be brutal.for the industry.

........I think that is what Archie reckons.

Well Archie today is throwing his personal opinion of JMac with the stewards inquiry into his ride on Threeod at Randwick yesterday.

Racenet had below too.

Is Archie is in protective custody -- or is he a known joker

....entertaining ..... no substance... unless,  ... as never happens...... stewards properly investigate.

A more professional predecessor: Roelof Smilde....... professional punter... et al

In the mid 1990s, as the way opened for a 'punters rep' at RacingNSW, Roelof was an intriguing contender with a most interesting background (see below).

This extract from the SMH obituary covers his racing interests -- a link to the fuller obituary follows.

From the late '60s, Smilde joined with a small group of other serious punters to systematically record and analyse information to set their own odds. If the odds offered on horses were better than their own, they laid a bet.

The system proved successful and for Smilde, it became equivalent to a full-time job, allowing him to give up all work other than racing. As times became less conservative, Smilde became more activist, supporting and bankrolling many initiatives including underground publications that exposed corruption in politics, the judiciary and racing.

By the early '80s, the systematic punting approach was becoming less successful as it became clear that race-fixing was to blame. Smilde was outraged that his ability to turn an honest buck without having to be servile to bosses was being stymied.

He dedicated himself to campaigning against those he saw as corrupt, using research, lobbying and assisting investigative journalists to expose the problem. He developed a dossier of 200 cases, which was presented to Australian Jockey Club stewards.

.......... needless to say.........the stewards dismissed his documented allegations ..... every one

Archie is absolutely on fire at the moment.....it's fearless stuff.

Blowing the lid on the cheats, naming the gear, how it's administered and how it works......all power to him.
Obviously getting his information from good sources.
Can't have his assessment of J Mac as a cheat but it's a good read each morning.

Little hint the other day that he might go up behind a paywall.......how much do you have in mind Archie?

The stewards wont pay to read it

.......... they would only pay to stop it.

...............that is the problem........unless it is freely out in the open .....the stewards will ignore commentary that exposes their incompetence.

There was supposed to be a government program to reward whistle-blowers........... blowing the whistle cannot be privately funded ............  the racing-media establishment, that should be investigating and reporting such misbehavior,  is so compromised by contractual obligations to stay quiet,  that any suggestion of 'fearless independence' has no credibility.

The butterfly is credibly exposing the incompetence of racing administration -- he should be employed by NineMedia .....and given free rein .............consistent with their claimed 'always independent'.
