If he can win the 3 races he is being set for in Brisbane why wouldn't he be in the running for horse of the year ?

Because the races are in Brisbane.
It's a moot point regardless, he's not going to win the 3 races.

When he was winning at Rocky, I'm sure some people would have said he wouldn't win in Brissie. Then he proved them wrong. When he went to Sydney, sure a lot would have said he wouldn't win there either. Proved them wrong again. A Group 3 race unlikely at his 1st attempt..........but now he's ticked that off as well.   8-)
People love horses that keep stepping up.

I don't care if anyone pots a horse, I'd just like to hear the reasoning. After all anyone can throw out a "won't win" call

Well as far as the Stradbroke is concerned, he doesn't fit the modus operandi of a Stradbroke winner.
His win ratio is about 80% too high for a Stradbroke winner.

And if by some miracle he did fluke a Straddie victory, he'd need to lose his next 90 odd races straight to fit the bill.

Even if he starts 2/1 in all 3 races, it still makes him about $1.02 to lose one of them.

The tab would give you $1.01.

Not a courageous call.

Hasn't been measuring up regardless.
Probably needed a break and then back to the weaker races.

Supposed to be resuming on Saturday in the Expressway, but will be scratched if the track is too rain affected.
