Anyone prepared to participate or take me on in a $4 bet challenge?

The rules are very simple 50 bets of $4 total of any bet type you like and as many bets as you like as long as the total is $4.00 per race.

To make record keeping simple I will impose a 50c minimum on any one ticket but just be aware that the WA tab allows 1c combos.

I will use my $4 first four rove ticket only so you know what you are up against as well as my limitations. By all means take advantage of them.

ANY meeting covered by the VICTAB is fair game.

Bets allowed to be nominated to the thread up to 1 minute before the advertised start time. For those worried about losing their value you can PM me before the race and I will post it as soon as practicable for me on the day of the race. I wont be doing this myself - mine will always be there before the race.

Ego talk is fine as long as it is done in a sense of fun and respectable debate.

Don't expect to win with place bets unless they are formula bets.....

4 bets per week maximum - ie lets see what you can do.

No I wont copy your pm bets.

ps I need to be able to verify any early fixed odds early win bet prices so if these change really quickly maybe best leave them out of this.

................ TABNSW and VICTAB also allow 1 cent multis -- as I noted last May.

Yesterday (29 May 2021).....at Randwick.... I was losing all day .......... salvation arrived in the last race ....... a 1.15 cent bet on the Big6 was still alive -- the first five winners were coupled with the 4 place getters in the last -- the collect was 420 (320 + 4 x 25 supplementaries)

If you can be bothered JWH just jumble up some numbers in in a small percentage F4 and put my name to it.

I struggle with enthusiasm for Australian racing these days....can't be bothered doing a lot of form.
I just see a sport that's been completely corrupted through doping.

All the wire taps and evidence from the USA just validates what I long suspected....all goes on here as well.

The death of forums.... is due to non participation in threads like this....

Maybe given the popularity of Gintara's Purton following HK thread the best way to bet on Purtons mounts with just $4 for the night may interest people.

All,

For a limited time I will do 2 $4 bets for each Hong Kong meeting involving primarily Purton. He is returning 1.01 this year but has returned as much as 1.05 in other years which means Gintara's 1.04 is a pass mark only....

Lets see if we can do better than that with exotics rather than win bets . We may not!

I wont venture onto other jockeys like Moriera or Shinn ( Shinn's returns are better than Moreira by the way by quite a margin but Morier's strike rate is better ) to allow proper comparison to simple win bets on Purton.

My ability, or lack of is a part of the equation so don't be too quick to form views - you might do better than me.

Hope you can wait until the last race!

Quaddy one ticket only being :-

/1-9/1-11/2,7,9,10/4/ for $4 on 396c is 1.01% of the div if achieved.

2nd bet involves the same horse but is a different way of attempting to bring value into the race :-

r9 First Four 4,6R2,3,6,7,10,11 for 1.1111%

All,

ok so far the win bets have it with Purtons mount paying $2.00 and I missed the quaddy but got the lowish first four of $875.30

Win return for $8 is $16.00 and first four return is $9.72 Not far away from the quaddy but you all know about that reality when not many tickets taken.

I did manage to pick Purtons ONLY win from 9 rides so there is hope.

I will take your word for it that those bets were readily available at the prices mentioned.

Betting early is a valid approach to add value compared to final divs.... with the rider that sometimes final prices are much longer!

I've actually backed them at the prices shown except for the ones I have got on Betfair at a bigger price. (Crown Mint partially match at $24 $21fixed still available - Pippali I'm on at average $29.96 - and I'm on Lighthouse at $11.61 : of course I lose rake on those if they lob).

Just delete the Betfair ones please.

By all means mention the better returns achieved on Betfair at the end of your 50 pics if such is the case.

Just looking at what is possible with different approaches on the TABs here.
