I backed Tristarc with confidence and coupled her with Our Sophia in the quinella (many times)

to complete probably my best day punting back in the day.  Nobody bought a drink that night cept me.

So   .......   Tulloch.

Imposera raced in the same colours too from memory when she won and was big odds too.

Good mare too.

Can anyone recall any CC winners in last 25 years winning a WFA G1 after winning the cup?

I am not sure regarding Fawkner and Jameka but definitely recall Elvestrom, Northerly, Might and Power. I am confident Ethereal, Sky Heights and Mummify were G1 WFA placed after winning the cup but not sure if they won.

Won't rank them but I doubt there was a horse in the world that could have beaten Might And Power on that day with his 52.5kg.

Won't be betting much - there are other great races on the card where the form is more exposed. A couple of trifectas for fun.

The presence of #1, #2, #3, #8 and #15 mean it is impossible to rate the race.

Saeed Bin Suroor reckons the toppie Best Solution is a better horse than his 2008 winner All The Good.

Jeunes, all 3 won at least one G1 wfa after their Caulfield Cup wins. Ethereal won the BMW and Mummify won in Singapore. Sky Heights and Mummify also both won the Caulfield Stakes after their Caulfield cup wins.

All three great horses. Sky Heights was also second just behind Ethereal in the 2000 Cup.

I watched his two big wins in Germany and his win in England.  Impressive.

Ridden upside down by Childs in the Caulfield Stakes, I expect to see Homesman resume hostilities from his usual

postion with Melham back on board.  Should go very close.

Danger:  The Cliffsofmoher.

i was very happy at the 200m mark.

Unfortunately I was right about the winner too.

Bugger.  Almost a very good start to the day.

Thought the Oz horses might show up a bit more. Pick your Europeans for the MC.

Why has RVL decided to wreck the two major races on the spring carnival?

.......... benefit races for second stringer horses from overseas paints Australia as 'nuts' not smart.

While the race had an element of the 'big boys come out to play' about it, you really have to admire the courage of the topweight.
When The Taj Mahal made his move the response from Best Solution was really impressive.......all  that you love about the thoroughbred.

Pretty sad for the Oz stayers all the same.

Europeans and Godolphin in particular have come with a plan. Run along at slow to moderate tempo and take off at 600 leaving many off the bit.

Here is an idea. Why not take up gateball. You have no idea about racing at any level. Opinions you have and in a democratic society that is fair but I see nothing from you but negativity and everything you suggest is bordering in a total lack of understanding  of racing on any continent.

I might be labouring the point but our stayers look very inferior at times compared to the European.

I read somewhere tonight that only 3 horses out of the top dozen in MC betting are trained /based here while 2 of the 3 are Avilius and Holmesman.

On bright side we are starting to get more exposed form leading into the MC. If NSW and Vic racing bodies get their act together and cooperate, we could see the Metropolitan as another automatic qualifier. The big winner will be both carnivals.

Youngstar and Ace High were poor

About the only thing that made ground all day was Weir's filly Verry Elleegant.

I wouldn't be sacking Youngstar on todays effort
