Who cares.

Itís none of your focking business. Heís happy
Probably no-one Wily......it's just a bit amusing!

With all the fanfare about his departure I think most people were thinking a bit of The Lone Ranger and Silver riding off into the sunset ......only difference...... Andrew seemed to be well thanked.
I'm interested in this twitter thing he has going.......how does something like this become a paid gig?......there are no obvious sponsors.

Could race clubs be propping him up?

..........AB..........taking a break....... must have been from SKY

Was his contract with SKLY due for renewal or termination?

It's already been pointed out above or are you saying Bensley is lying?

...............no need for that .........  'a-break' implied more than what we see on 'twitter' daily..... and that invites questions.

..................  rough ride ahead for any intending bonanza boys

Much as i would like to be contradicted, any idea that murdoch-monopoly-men would tolerate a hoss on the loose wandering over from the Ponderosa, is likely to prove misconcieved.

Andrew Bensley signs with SENTrack

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2020/08/04/andrew-bensley-signs-with-sentrack/

That Hoss is yet to feature on the SEN show suggests he had a long 'non complete' clause in his payout from SKY .............. a time which SKY seems to have used to tie-up any other likely strays with a media profile.

.....twitter is good but not a well paying gig.

Has there been anything useful on SEN so far?

...................... has the Murdoch monopoly put a T on the end of SEN ...............to dispatch it to irrelevance?

This is a tweet from Andrew now that he has left Sky Racing.
Where was this voice when he worked for that abomination that is Sky Racing?

Andrew Bensley
@AndrewBensley

2h
As we all know Racing NSW have signed a deal with Sky Racing to show Sydney venue at least 2mins before their race.
If it was any other state in Australia the race would be quickly moved onto Sky 2.
Fair enough push your state but the punter is clearly being forgotten ! Ends.

Is there any NSW scribe or commentator that would dare criticise RNSW/Sky?????....Not only do the racing press have tongue ties, they have blindfolds, hoods, blinkers and ear muffs.

Although I agree with the general sentiment wily is absolutely correct, you wouldn't move  group1 from anywhere even if they were 15mins late

It's only the "general sentiment" I was referring to.
"Benz' never would make a statement like this when he worked for that crappy outfit.
Why try to be a "punter's pal" now?

I can't watch Sky....it is an abomination!...I'm on the RNSW site .
So I don't know just what race he was referring to....Vic racing gets shafted on Sky Racing...that is standard fare!

............... in 1968 the start of the Doncaster was 'delayed' to allow the broadcast of a GPS 'head of the river' schoolboys rowing race  ............ an event no longer of any general relevance!

"Allowed" is an odd choice of words, Gintara.
There are people in this world with conviction....yes they do exist.
Get enough of them and you can force change.
The Sydney races were being run deliberately late yesterday......absolutely deliberate.
Sky just fulfilling their duties to RNSW and shafting anybody who tuned in to watch their horse go round in an interstate venue.

My point re the Bensley tweet was the line "As we all know".
I didn't "know'....I just strongly suspected some very unholy alliance between Sky and RNSW.
It's the reason I cancelled my TAB acc. some years ago!

Sneaky as all hell RNSW.
Heading for a crash, big time.
A couple more Greens, Animal lib. and Independents in NSW parliament and they will be exposed!
Certainly put a stop to the "special acts of parliament".......strewth!!!

Nem, I was skipping between the footy and the races yesterday. I noticed every Sydney race was running late by a minute to 3 minutes. It might not sound much but has an effect on other races. I wonder if that will change on non carnival days.

Usually these days I limit myself to the Sydney quaddies and a few bets locally / interstate compared to previous years. I prefer the tv coverage of races rather than Sky for the carnival races due to the hurried nature of the coverage at times.

The fact of the matter is that the majority of the NSW racing industry participants are quite happy with Vlandys and co. They are getting more money etc. on pure selfish terms, do they care about other states, I would say no.

The fact is if RVL saved the money they spent on Racing.com etc, they could hike the prizemoney even higher than NSW. I doubt if they run at a profit and unless they get other states to come on board, it is going to be loss making every year.

The Cup I believe was 4 1/2 minutes late Jeunes.
This stuff doesn't affect me because I watch on the RNSW site....but it used to annoy the hell out of me.
People don't watch racing to be made angry.....
The year Annus Mirabilis won the Adelaide Cup tipped me over the edge with Sky.....chopped the finish to take in a NSW country race. :thumbsd:

I don't buy all this stuff about the majority of the NSW industry.

People are afraid to speak out against V'Landys because they will be "punished"
Big end of town do well under RNSW at the moment.

Country trainers aren't benefitting by what goes on.....money is not going there.
Timber running rails and poor facilities...they are disadvantaged.
The Orange Cup was an example.....they can't compete against that stuff.

Should just be money pouring in to leveling up the very unlevel playing field that honest, decent, hard working trainers are expected to compete on.

The fact is Nem, Sydney controls NSW. By giving the country and provincial trainers, their respective championships, midways and highways, it has appeased many with prizemoney.

Could Racing NSW spend more on the country races etc instead of the big pop up races, I would say yes. Unfortunately that is never going to change. The Villiers is now worth $2m. Even if you take a $1m off, it will still be the premier race around that time. However it will now eat into the WA summer carnival now with most Sydney horses staying in NSW.

The only strong racing body at the moment is NSW. The rest are riddled with problems. Racing NSW needs to spend more on Rosehill and build a better stand but they wonít. I have been to Randwick pre covid and it has a fantastic lot of views for members etc but if you are a member of the public, it is quite crowded. I was lucky that I had members tickets for the times I had been there. It is great facilities.

Warwick Farm and Canterbury have been shunned and put in the too hard basket with the provincials getting feature Saturdays which keeps the participants happy in those areas. Reality is that Vlandys is a very smart operator as he knows what he has to do and like League, money talks.

I was quite intrigued by the helicopter usage yesterday. Did it dry certain sections of the track and is that why it was hard to make ground etc. I am not a track expert but it was intriguing as a mate said the straight will be a lot dryer with the helicopter usage. So if you have a head start, it is harder to catch up if you have to go through the wetter section while the leader is on the dryer  section.

Only jockey to come down the side and win. Reminded me of Veandercross ride.

Poor Zaaki.  We had him, VE and Anamoe in our quaddie leg. When we got together in the morning, one of my mates said huge odds for Think It Over but none of us had the guts to back due to the wet. Good win for the little bloke against the big stables.

Not really but call it what you will, there would be a standard clause buried somewhere in the contract around image & conduct etc.

Of course there is.

That is the reality.

As for the notion that a Group 1 should be moved to Sky 2 because it is running late - well f. me. Most of the races on Melbourne Cup day would be on Sky 2.

Funny how that doesn't get a mention. Wonder why  :chin:

Generally speaking I watch Racing.com. ...the city meeting only.
Struggle a bit to tolerate that at times TBH.

On these big, hard to resist Sydney days I'll watch RNSW..Sky Central.
I would turn on 7-8 minutes before to watch the parade and depending on who wins the race would affect when I pause it.
I turned off straight after The Oaks yesterday....and I'll leave it at that.....go and check out my garden.
Certainly would have stayed if Velvet Lady had won to hear the story there!

It's not only Vic. races getting shafted....Queensland would be getting short changed as well with these deliberate late starts.

The race times look ok on paper but when a 2 mile race starts 4 1/2 minutes late...It should be the NSW provincial race that is impacted, not an Interstate metro meeting.

Sky Racing/RNSW are shonky as!....how does it go?.... "lay with dogs......".
