OK a couple of possibilities, there is a bug with having that many posts on the one page, I have noticed a problem before when I increase that setting, also another issue may be that you have "warn of new posts before replying"

Which would mean that if somebody posted after you clicked reply then it would give you a popup message or something asking if you still wanted to post it, possibly stopping you from posting your message, I think I disabled Arakans

on the working week thread today had similar problems .... could not see my last post or Dogsys after mine after viewing it once  earlier ....
