The new Shogun Lodge?
Came home quicker than Anamoe, is the best of his generation.
He needs to understand he is a racehorse, and run slightly more even sectionals, if possible.
His last furlong is unbelievable and I am in love again.
Cox Plate bet locked in.
Guineas then the Valley.

I get the love affair Shogun.

Had a bit of a romance with him myself, since that unbelievable finish at Sandown before the Blue Diamond.

He does look to have become a real stallion now......I hope we get to see the all of the ability.

If I wore a younger man's clothes I would be buying shares in him...(wife's permission of course)
Hard not to see him passing on some good genes.

He is a damn good horse. I was disappointed with his 2nd up run but his run in the Rose was unbelievable. If he was not taken off his line in the straight, he would have finished closer too.

I tipped him in the Guineas and I hope he gets some pace and luck in running. Not sure about the Cox Plate though. I would see how he goes in the Guineas before looking at anything else. I personally would give him a freshen up and try for the Coolmore after the Guineas.

I am with you Shogun.

I can't believe he only cost $120,000 because he is bred in the purple.  Charges home.  Exciting colt.  There doesn't seem to be much of him though.

Sam Freedman yesterday wasn't committing to too much after the race.
Someone suggested to Sam about Artorius being a run on sprinter.....I don't think so.
He was really good through the line yesterday and after it.

I hope the connections do think about the Cox Plate....So You Think won the Cox Plate after a 5th in the Guineas.
He does look a stallion and the spurs are telling us something all the same.
Very fast Guineas on a fairly firm track yesterday.

I was on Artorus yesterday and it was a great run. Unfortunately he needs a lot of luck in running and / or fast pace in large fields. He has a devastating finish and to be blunt if they raced him in the Cox Plate, he could very competitive if saved for a finish.

None of the industry types have mentioned him going on with it.
Not sure the cauldron would suit him either.
Flemington mile.
Yes.

Heís one of an impressive group of 3 year-olds this season. Hopefully, weíll see a few race on next spring and not go straight to stud after a few autumn starts.

Too true mate.
His Blue Diamond will curtail his career.
He just needs to jump a bit better, and place himself mid field or a little worse.
As a four or five year old he would be devastating.
We won't see it.
If he never races again I would not be surprised.

I can't see Artorius having the pin pulled now.

Granted, the way the industry works in this country, one hint of a bad run and that will be his last.
Sad how everything revolves around speed in thoroughbred breeding in this country.

It could be The Coolmore next for Artorius.....that seems to be the thinking......bit sad, but I'd have something on him.
I'd rather they increased the distance rather than decrease it.....there's enough in his pedigree and style to test his stamina in The Cox Plate....esp. this year!

Donít write him off. The way the track plays will be the big guide as it is a large field. The pace will help him. He is great odds and I will have in my Quaddie numbers along with a few others.

As much as I like Artorius, it's hard to be very confident.

It's a big ask coming back in distance 400m in a 3 weeks.....he'll have to be really good.....maybe he is!

You do wonder if the Freedmans had their way, would he be in this race.
Hard to miss Sam Freedman's.....We're willing to give it a try comment.
Stud is obviously calling the shots.

Gee, I'm the other way.

I can see him smoking the pipe and swooping over them in the last 100m  :chin:

Think he's a great bet.

Tab are betting BB top 1/2 of the field (in venue) or top 5

Went each way thank God.
I love him, but again too late.
How fast was his last 100m?
Incredible.

It was a fantastic run by him.

Awful watching him buried away and still looking for room when the winner made his decisive move.
Anybody watching racing for the 1st time must surely ask....why are they all jammed up when they are on such a big track?

He will make a great sire, I reckon......that acceleration and the way he really extends his neck.....great sight!

Both Home Affairs and Artorius are in the all in betting for the Darley Classic. I think it maybe a bridge too far to back up so quickly but I could be wrong.

Shaquero was a tad unlucky not to finish closer today but more for a placing finish than ever troubling the winner.

Artorius has not won a race this preparation and like Anamoe who finished 2nd a couple of times, a lit bit of luck either way and they could had a more lucrative campaign.

He is a colt and they push on...
I wonder, will they find 'the key' that allows him to just win?
Sprints?
Doncaster?
Thoughts?

He is running this weekend. Good odds but not sure if the 1100m will suit.

I wonít be suprised if they go for the Guineas as I canít see him as a sprinter. He is more a 1400 - 2000m horse in my opinion.
