One thing I hate is getting overs ie 2.93 about Crash'm in the 1st at Wyong today and a bolter is scratched at the barrier and cop a deduction which is fair enough, but 23 cents is a bit hefty.
Before the scratching, it was 2.50 on the tote and paid 2.60

As a newbie to betfair i was just wondering how often the following happens:

After backing and laying on two trots meetings last night and doing OK i had a quick look at the first at Mandurah and noticed that the dog priced at $2.50 with unitab someone was laying for $7. It was about 8 mins before the race but couldn't believe the overs on offer, i snapped it up and then was able to lay the dog at $4, i missed the $3.50 that was on offer.
The dog ran second so whom ever layed those odds collected, and so did i, but does this happen very often.
Why would someone offer up such overs? Was it a mistake?

Question, guys....what's the simplest means of showing your current balance on the Betfair screen?

I can set it when I first log in, but after that the figure isn't updated.

Appreciate any advice.

DD - refresh that particular browser page, it will update (increase) your balance. Just make sure that the 'refreshing' doesn't interrupt other pages you might have open.

Betfair Launches Legal Action Against Dutch Govt
In Europe, Betfair "has launched legal action against the Dutch government in a court case which could result in a claim for damages running into millions of Euros," reported racingpost.com. The action follows "a letter from the Dutch Ministry Of Justice urging Dutch banks not to process payments from any customers from Holland wishing to bet on any legal gaming website, thus blocking access not only to Betfair but other UK-licensed operators". Betfair managing director Mark Davies commented: "This is a desperate move by the Dutch government to prevent a company that is fully licensed & regulated in jurisdictions across Europe from being accessed by residents in the Netherlands. Its actions are against the interests of the Dutch consumer & fly in the face of the EU principles of open & fair competition. This serves only to protect the Dutch government's own gaming monopoly & keep prices high. It is madness that the Netherlands, as one of the founding members of the single market, has resorted to illegal tactics that prevent consumer choice & go against the Treaty. The government's objective of shutting out foreign operators while feather-bedding domestic monopolies, one a big US multinational, and protecting a cosy cartel cannot be allowed to continue. We will fight this. We will fight anyone who unlawfully prevents us & our customers from doing business." The betting exchange "has also made a formal complaint to the European Commission stating that the government's action unlawfully protects the Dutch gaming monopoly & violates EC laws concerning the free movement of services within the EU". just to left of available balance is a little box with a tick in it,the box below has with 2 arrows pointing in different directions,that is the account refresh button

Thanks, Judge...but does that cause a total refresh? If you have a race market open is that lost?

DD, the unticked box left of total available hides your balance from the missus, tick it to show all balances, and click the box left of main wallet to refresh balances.

sports or home doesn't matter OL,its always there when you are logged in,unless you unclick the top box,it then hides your balance

you can check it now DD,just place a $6.00 bet on something,then click the refresh button,the 1 just under as i said earlier,and account will refresh,to new balance
