Josh Fleming today on Sky Thoroughbred Central for the Gatton preview which started at 10 a.m.

Stated that he couldn't believe R7 #10 Limbo Star was $41 - I quickly checked and got $34 - figured it wouldn't last long.

Gets up at $10 fixed.

Also parlayed it with Bernies two specials one of which got up in the first race for a very nice Friday   emthup

Not sure why but quite often the tipsters have a good day when they race at Gatton.
A few of them got the quadie yesterday.
@qldtrials (Chris Neilson) seems to do ok there most times
A quick way to he poor house if you follow tipsters most of the time but it can be interesting seeing what they take

I treat tipsters info as "privileged information". I know a lot wouldn't agree with this but things have changed.

A lot of them these days take it very seriously and look at video replays and do their weights and measures.

Take Tony Brassel for example who is tipping today on Sky1.

Race 3 Brisbane. He's tipped his top two then says "we'll thrown in #18 Stellacraft for third. Racing well at Ipswich and the Gold Coast and gets in well at the weights". I'm listening to this and see Stellacraft is $16 - quick check of the form - so I have a few dollars each way. Here I'm treating Tony's tips as some sort of ratings trusting and using the information he has gathered in his extensive study.

Doesn't always work. But if you use it with your own thoughts can become an "informed opinion".

And I have my favourites. Some of those mounting yard guys (certainly not all) won't pay any attention. Try and ignore the "Market Movers" - this seems to be a real nonsense.

But the point is that there is information there to be processed if you want to put in the effort

Bernie also said Stellacraft would win on looks but then didn't tip it in the first 4

Apparently this is a true story. Some years ago a family raced a horse called Boat and one of the family members approached, the late racecaller, Bert Bryant and told him the horse should be pronounced Bo-art as the horse was named after an Indonesian term for a seafaring vessel. Thereafter when calling its name in a race Bert referred to the horse as Bo-art.

Hmmmm,

Fighting the flu so only listed to the Dubbo Cup Prelude. Was disappointed to hear the 3 shorties all in the FF according to the race caller....

Bof course two lovely roughies were actually in the result and a very nice div.

How often do they get 2 wrong?

Listening to Russell Leonard I found it interesting that he is one of some who pronounce ask as aks. Always confounded me thinking it is a dyslexia but history says in Old English the word was ax, wanting information, and has found its way to be written as ask in time.

Good to hear Terry Spargo back in Australia.  I don't have inside info but I presume his contract ended with Dubai. Craig Evans is up there now for 5 months.

Craig implied that if he is happy with the gig his contract could be made long term.

Terry Spargo said before he left that he decided it was time to come home.

No disrespect to the Albion Park puppies but Today I heard one of the World's finest race callers in action at this venue. Gee they must have some wonderful callers up in Queensland if this is the ultimate place they can find for him on a Wednesday afternoon.

Terry Bailey just pronounced Phoneme as fineme.

Surely being out of Hidden Message it should have been Phone Me.

2 x 3200m races last at Newmarket and the commentator doesn’t call some of the horses at all. Some only once
No good when you back them and think they’re scratched
