Centreracing have scrapped their best tab (Ctote) product  on country/provincial racing. I could understand the need to change if they were being taken for $100 of thousands, but given the maximum win on this product was only $1500, it seems they have become really big bean counters.

Centreracing have replaced the best tab price with a middle tote product. Effectively they get to pick the two lowest tabs. A vastly inferior product.

Suggestion:
When betting on provincial racing, use Sportsbet, who offer 'Country Best' - best of Supertab and NSWtab. The important aspect about this product is they don't choose which tab price they will give you. Another alternative is IASbet's Super Price product - which is effectively the middle tote, but with a nice addition of a small bonus on top.  For example If a horse paid $3 supertab, $2.90 nswtab and $2.80 unitab, IAS would probably pay $2.95.

Centreracing have also scrapped their Ctote Plus product on metropolitan racing - Centreracing will still off best tab on metropolitan racing now call CTote - but the important difference is the Plus SP (Starting Price) addition has also been scrapped.

Suggestion:
Use Sportsbet and or Sportingbet who continue to offer best tab PLUS SP (City Best Plus and Maxi div). This addition of SP can be very handy on occasions. Thus if a horse paid $4 Supertab $4.20 NSWtab $3.90 Unitab and the Starting Price was $4.50, Centreracing would pay you $4, while Sportsbet and Sportingbet would pay $4.50.

Centreracing  didn't even have the courtesy of notifying customers of these changes. It just happened on Saturday.

Centreracing have gone from being one of the best corporates to next to useless.

I guess this is not surprising given that centreracing were recently bought out by Unitab.

To all Centreracing customers, I implore you to take as much of your business away from them.

As was mentioned earlier Centre Racing not CentreBet, and CR are owned now by the Lotto firm. They are going to want to keep the turnover for themselves and Scabcorp aren't going to give them a free hit by allowing them to back bet in to their pools, with a rebate. This is the main reason to pull the product not the fact that they were losing money as it was the major point of difference for CR.

the above was posted on betfair forum

Hardly surprising considering they're now owned by  Unitab or Tattersalls or whatever they call themselves now.

The concession betting introduced by the previous owner was rubbish value, except on fields of 5 or 6 with the 1-2-3 option which was a no loss proposition.......unless they've altered the payout formula. (tote odds option only )

Suggestion: don't back too many winners with Sportsbet or Sportingbet. If you do, you won't have access to their best products for long.

Don't cherry-pick, rodent.......use "best odds" liberally as well as the "maxidiv" and they will retain your business even as a winner.

Spotingbet still let me on.....for peanuts. If I throw $20 on a roughie, bet gets rejected.....maximum allowed $19 blah blah blah. Flat out if I can get $150 on a favourite. emthdown

As for Sportsbet......I tried to put $1 on a horse at Bunbury today and got this message...." This account cannot place bets on Western Australian Racing."

That is why I haven't had a bet with them in a long long time.
