Reflecting on that curious interview, somewhat reminiscent of when Zeljko outed himself.

Ava Benny-Morrison describes herself as a crime reporter, why was she picked rather than someone familiar with the punting scene?

And why the glowing endorsement of V'landys?

My bet is that algorithmic trader Dr Nick is well aware that the obscene Tote Kickbacks that V'landys condones equate to a cloaca-load of free money.

So the optimum strategy is to do nothing to threaten such a cosy situation.

And is he really retiring? Who knows?

But his son Dominic appears to be no slouch at the caper, so I reckon the hurt inflicted on non-privileged punters will continue for a long time.

And why the glowing endorsement of V'landys?

My bet is that algorithmic trader Dr Nick is well aware that the obscene Tote Kickbacks that V'landys condones equate to a cloaca-load of free money.

But it's a move, discussed at length with Racing NSW boss Peter Vílandys this month, he believes will only have a minor ripple effect.
Dr Nick stressed the turnover would be absorbed in the tote ó or TAB ó market.
ďRacing NSW were concerned about integrity issues,Ē he explained.
ďI assured Peter Vílandys that neither the tax or integrity issues are behind what weíve done.Ē

V'Landys has nothing to do with Tote Kickbacks - that is a matter between tab.com.au and the individual punter.

But you already know that, don't you. That is why we get people like you blaming V'Landys for horse cruelty in Queensland  :nowink:

People like me try to only blame the blameworthy.

And how gullible are you!

V'landys is on record boasting how much control he has over the Tote. So there!

Now, why were there at length discussions between the two compatriots?

I'd venture V'landys was exploring ways of enticing Dr Nick to remain. The mind boggles as to what was offered.

But Ada's puff piece looks like part of the deal.

Many past and present Tab employees refer to PVL as the "real CEO", it has been opined to me many times that neither Sky or Tabcorp make a decision without conferring with PVL.

To be transparent too PP, I donít work for any gambling operators or live in Victoria or any affiliation with any racing clubs. I do like Liverpool and Knights. I will criticise and praise Vílandys depending on the circumstances.

Now what is your relationship or affinity with Vílandys to be transparent as you always jump to his defence?

No relationship with PVL at all. Don't know the man.

Appreciate what he has done for racing in NSW - especially country racing.

NSW was running a poor second to Victoria for a long time because of lack of Government support and he turned that around.

I noticed how my comment to Antitab was turned around back on me by yourself which seems to be a common "tactic". It won't stop me however.

Nothing to do with me. JFC posted an article. I quoted a bit out of it and pointed out that Dr Nick's relationship with PVL seems OK which was in response to jfc's question about why that relationship seemed strong.

Do we really have to go into things to this degree  :what:

Used to, not any more

Iím in America now trying my luck in the new frontier.

Either way it is a very open secret that much to many smart people at Tabcorps dismay, the CEO of racing NSW pulls the strings gs in that organization.

I am not the one who treats Vílandys as a messiah. I call it as I see it, good or bad. You are the one who always jump down on anyoneís throat if they criticise vílandys.

It just seems like an infatuation because I have never seen anything critical about him ever but I stand to be corrected.

You have a closed mind when it comes to Vlandys.

On most topics, you have a good view point except when it comes to any criticism of Vílandys.

Those that know me will say that I don't treat anyone as a "messiah" - in fact I am critical of those that do, hence why I pick up people on "parroting" (jfc reckons I spell parroting the wrong way but the dictionary gives me a red line if I do it any other way).

So if the usual gang comes on criticizing (and parroting each other) PVL for something - and let's be honest, those who lost out in Racefields and most Victorians in the racing admin section do - I'll pick them up if they are exaggerating. And someone wrongly suggesting I'm a "suck up" won't stop me.

Having said that I thought I posted somewhere that my opinion was that the distance of The Golden Eagle should have been 2400m and acted as some sort of staying championship for all the Derby and Oaks winners from the previous year.

Disappointed it was set at 1500m.

PP, I for one thought VíLandys showed guts with the race fields.I think he is doing a good job most of the time.

I disagreed with his handling of the ABC story as Racing NSW was on a hiding onto nothing unless they took a more conciliatory approach. You and myself will disagree on this point but I am happy to move on.

I agree with the 1500 issue to some degree but the only way a 2400m race would have worked was replacing the Metropolitan. Also there would have been issues with the MC clash too if after the Everest.

Not sure I'd bet against him developing a COVID-19 vaccine.
