I missed the fact that they were racing at Canterbury last thursday until after the main race which was the Canterbury Classic, and I also missed Black Piranha in that feature race on a Sunday at the Sunshine Coast? a couple of weeks ago.

I might not be the only one that would have liked to have watched and had a bet in these races if they had known they were on.

Hopefully this thread can be used for switched on forumites to kindly alert those less aware whenever there is a feature race outside of the normal Saturday Metro programs.

First off the rank is the $400k Hobart Cup to be run on Monday 9 Feb.

I'm sure there was plenty of mentions re Black Piranha at the Sunny Coast.

But yes maybe a Feature race thread for each state would suit some.

Gents, there was no mention of Black Piranha or the Sunshine Coast Cup race in any thread.

The only mention of Desuetude or the Canterbury Classic race was one mention in the dedicated Desuetude thread, so unless you are enamoured with him you would not have seen it.

There has been no mention of the $400k Hobart Cup until now.

OL, you are right about individual threads for feature races but generally these are only the Saturday events, it is these Sunday, Thursday/Friday nights and Monday features that sneak under my radar.

Correction, Westie did start a thread on the Sunshine Coast Cup but there were no subsequent posts, the way these threads move off the front page with this forum it is hard to keep up, the old forum had 50 threads on the front page, this one has 30 and they move a lot quicker. Magic will hopefully enable an ignore threads option.

The $100,000 Sunshine Coast Cup on today.  Good quality field lining up with lots of chances.   Thumb Up

Bareena has tested us all and she's got barrier 16 just to make the challenge a bit more difficult this time.  Not sure what's gonna happen to her today.  Maybe a pelican will land on her as she's about to make her run. rolleyes

Mono, Westie did start a thread as I have corrected above. I assume the posts you found were on the Sunshine Coast thread which I don't normally read.

I don't want to read every thread or check every race meeting in Australia to find out if there is a Saturday Class Feature race on the program. I just thought that it may be within the graciousness of forumites that we could be alerted when these races not run on Saturdays might be likely to slip under the radar. I would gladly pay for the service if anyone offered it.

Grega with so many feature races around the country, and Globe for that matter it would be near impossible to have a thread dedicated to Feature races only.

I'm sure the Qld racing thread would cover any Group or listed races that were happening in that state ,as would all the other states.

I think on the other forum we had topics listed for Spring and Autumn racing.   Maybe it could be broken down again but not sure how.

Spring racing would generate a million topics re the various feature races and this would probably happen here as well.

Maybe the managers can come up with an idea to generate discussion on Feature races using just one thread, maybe broken down State by State.

Mono, it is only the ones that might sneak under the radar that I am interested in for this thread eg Hobart Cup on a monday, Canterbury Classic on a Thursday night, Sunshine Coast Cup on a Sunday.

Cheers OL, I have utilised that feature now and whilst it is ok I would still rather an ignore threads option.

Mono, I would prefer that this thread has no discussion on any Feature races, I just would like to know that these off peak Features, which are predominantly run on days other than Saturdays, are on.

I have checked the ARB website and a lot of others that have a Feature race calendar, and they all have significant ommissions, maybe Jrake can fix the ARB list.

I agree with Grega - excellent idea... posting notifications here won't stop discussions of those races on other threads - in fact there probably won't be discussions of the actual race on this thread, just an announcement that they are on... I miss a lot of these too :)

If it's a sunshine coast race for example, it would make sense to say something like XXXXX race is on Monday, see the Sunshine Coast thread for more details.

Cheers BT, it looks like we might learn something new.

I will do my best with WA off peak Features but I might need some help as I also missed that sprint feature at Mt Barker that Electric General won a couple of weeks ago.

How do you add things to the callander ?

Bottom of the thread there should be a Link to Calender

Click on it and it should give you the option to add a date and a new calender title

OK,

Seems to be an issue with linking to calender if it isn't your original thread, but should work for anybody posting or modifying a new thread, then clicking the "Link to Calender"

I'm around just not at my residence, will be back late Saturday and I normally start a thread with noms via the callander when at home.  Using the search engine also helps to find things.

OK,

After posting a New Thread click the Link to Calender link at bottom of thread and add the date, and a New Calender Title.

It will then display in the Upcoming Calender Events at the bottom on the home page
