JWesleyHarding I joined this forum after seeing you ask Who was Gunsynds Sire???? But because I just joined, I cant PM you.

I think you may know something that I kinda remember, so would love your insight.

Cheers,
Anne.

Sunset Hue.

We raced his full brother Sunset Red who won the McKell Cup over 2400m at Rosehill then started second favourite in the Doomben Cup and ran fifth.

Later that year, he was ballotted out of the Melbourne Cup on the Saturday night before much to my parent's disappointment.

Good onya Foxy for posting that.   emthup

Sunset Red won the 1973 McKell Cup beating Staid and Little Gum Nut. Ray Selkrig rode him that day at 49 kg.

3rd horse was a Fernhill Hcp winner and went on to win the Winter Cup in 1973.

Was a stablemate of Tails with Pat Murray?

There was some conjecture in the press about whether in fact Sunset Hue did the deed.

Having a mum by Newtown Wonder led to the debate about whether an offspring of hers by Star Kingdom could have the staying prowess of Gunsynd.

Anne

That post of mine was a while ago.

I've posted heaps of great stuff since to which Poison Pen7 can attest.

JWesleyHarding posts some valuable contributions to the forum and I enjoy his writing style which can be very witty.  Look forward to his posts.

Apart from football and politics of course - goes to fluff when talking on those subjects.
