Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anybody knows if there is an online video archive of old Australian horse races.

Sky have replays of races dating back to circa 2013/2014 & racing.com similar only with Victorian races.

I was wondering if there is some type of online archive available with replays of racing from say the 90's & 00's?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

YouTube probably your best bet Rothfire.

The major race clubs should maintain an archive of both their historical results and any replay material. Or maintain a central body.

But sadly the modern racing Administrator doesn't get any kudos for that sort of thing so they just let our wonderful racing history turn to dust.

Not as if it would cost that much. In fact you would get people to volunteer to maintain historical records.

But the will doesn't seem to be there.

How great would it be to click on (say) 1930 and get the full results on any particular day and also view any archived video.

Actually, access to results (and form) from way back when up to the very early fifties is pretty easy through Trove.

Best results for older races are in the Canberra Times, so click on ACT when searching.

You can also get results from old NSW rural newspapers sometimes - like the Northern Star.

So it's newspaper clippings as opposed to videos?
