Will be interesting to see how far Kementari can go under the tutelage of James Cummings.

Very nice win....caution on the opposition....form of minor placegetters was after all mid week Canterbury & Warwick Farm late season 2yro's..I hope Beadman puts him away for James to bring back in the spring...That cow paddock at Eagle Farm is a risk for a big raw bull...

I'm tipping Cummings will not do any better than O'Shea, Kementari may win a race like the Golden Rose but when the real group ones come around he will go MIA, as will the rest of James Cummings/Godolphin horses.........there was something that both Hawkes and Snowden had that O'Shea and Cummings don't have that makes that last 5/10% difference when climbing Everest......just an opinion, we'll see

Cummings has not been around long enough to come the thorough opinion on.

I suspect he is better than Hawkes and Snowden who are just typical Australian trainers who specialise in sprinters and do the same as all the other trainers except with superior stock.

Timeform Looks At Godolphin's Spring Team

Timeform looks at the promising group of soon to be three-year-olds James Cummings takes over as the new head trainer of Godolphin in Australia.

There's plenty in store for james cummings and godolphin next season
There's plenty in store for James Cummings and Godolphin next season PictuRacing and Sports

Bart Cummings famously trained 13 Melbourne Cup winners and now, coincidentally, his grandson James, in his new role as Head Trainer for Godolphin in Australia, has taken over the training of 13 soon to be three-year-olds rated 100 or higher byTimeform  this season.

Godolphin have, by their own standards, had a down year with their juveniles, but Cummings still has plenty to work with (as shown in the list below) particularly when considering that there will be plenty yet to be seen to best effect, if seen at all to this point.

As a reference, Godolphin's top three-year-olds of the past two seasons, Exosphere Horseformand Astern Horseform, were rated 118+ and 113p respectively heading into their three-year-old season.

Veranillo Horseform - Timeform Rating 114

Kementari Horseform - 109+

Jorda Horseform - 109p

Alizee Horseform - 107p

Trekking Horseform - 106p

Coruscate Horseform - 105

Marsupial Horseform - 105

Astoria Horseform - 104

Toga Picta Horseform - 104

Malahat Horseform - 102

Demerara Horseform - 101p

Virdine - 101p

Almanzora Horseform - 100

Veranillo is the highest rated juvenile to step out in the Godolphin Blue this season, and he should continue to give a good account in three-year-old feature races next season, but with far fewer miles on the clock, it is Saturday's winner Kementari who looks poised to take over as the star of Cummings' squad heading into the new season.

To go with his 109 rating Kementari produced one of the best juvenile timefigures of the season to date, with his time on Saturday hinting at him being one destined to measure up to the top level next season.

No doubt he is top class and to Authorized's credit he nailed this before his second in the Caulfield Guineas last year.

Will he finish in front of D'Argento over a mile?  :chin:

I think we have an outstanding crop of 3YO's in Sydney this year and the Hobartville was top class.

And Kementari beat them all.

First 6 over the line:

Kementari - previous best run 2nd Caulfield Guineas
Pierata - MM 3YO winner
D'Argento - up and comer
Trapeze Artist - Golden Rose winner
Ace High - Champion Stks - VRC Derby double
Luvaluva - 4th VRC Oaks

Very disappointing today.

I am not sure if they will persist or wait for a softer track.
