Ok,

Thought a new thread where people can just post their Melbourne Cup picks in the one thread to make it easier to follow.

I will go first,

Nom Du Jeu
Mad Rush
Honolulu
Barbaricus

I'll probably change my mind before Tuesday, at the moment I like (4)C'est La Guerre; [8] Mad Rush (5) Nom Du Jeu and (7) Zipping.  I got a thing about the NZ horse (21) Prize Lady and I still have Moatize in my Blackbook and didn't back it's last two starts.  My last winner was Rogan Josh back in 1999, before that What a Nuisance in 1985, Beldale Ball in 1980 and my first winner was Polo Prince in 1964.  So really I don't have a clue or a good record in the CUP.

PS Using the number 8 in brackers produces a smiley in sunglasses on the forum.

NOM DU JEU
PROFOUND BEAUTY
CEST LA GUERRE

Will back these 3 so that i'll atleast break even if one manages a place.

SEPTIMUS

Had money on it at 6's ages ago

GALLOPIN

Think it deserves a bit of specing.

Well I'll be backing the greys as usual...and really just don't know who else out of the others. To many internationals for me. As much as I think one will win it, I would love an Aussie to win. Definitely think C'est La Guerre is a big chance, especially if its wet. My 2 Aussies I would love to see win are Barbaricus and Newport. Just don't know if B can get the trip, will be interesting to see, if he over races then it's over for him. Newport is a smokey I think... will keep my eye on him :)

I like C'est La Guerre - good run in Cox with slow speed (much improved from the JRA Cup run there).  Barbaricus has been flying lately, so must be considered, and Profound Beauty has been working well at Sandown.  I think I must put in Moatize, managed to have a dollar each way on Rebel Raider, so here's to hoping Claire Lindop can get another roughie home.

For those wondering ....

The reason Vedder and I are on Mad Rush at good odds is because of a great "English" connection we have on another site ...... let's hope he joins up here but that won't happen if people like Rad are managers .....
