European stayer Septimus is now outright 4-1 favourite with Betchoice for the Melbourne Cup and Mad Rush has seen him promoted to $6 second favourite, with last year's winner Efficient now listed at $8. Bauer has now firmed to $21

Going to try and back-up from my COX Plate success with Maldivian here and am going to back All The Good,

Being trapped 3 and 4 wide the trip then still kicking off the turn is a good enough Cup trial for me

 ;)

Does CEST LA GUERRE  have a chance?

and is Maldivian officially out?  Just that when I looked at one bookie this morning they still had it in.

Yellowstone (IRE) is in doubt for the Cup after sustaining an injury (leg/hip injury) after becoming cast in his box at Sandown. He was being examined by vets today.

Not good news, we where always going to struggle to keep the Cup this year ...... this only makes it harder.

Just been reading there is a great likely hood of it being a wet track down there this year, and apparently my pick All The Good doesn't handle it wet,

Is this true ??  ;(

Stormy
Do you have Prize Lady rated and do you rate wet form, given the conditions over the next seven days.

Grats I posted the above on stormy's MC thread - will probably take it in my tri if it's in the 24.

Red Ruler is out of the Cup which means Bauer is now on 24th position and a bit of a worry being the winner of the Saab Quality which gains automatic entry.

Yellowstone's trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam says the horse is improving and again a definite starter.

Westie, I think you'll find now that Efficient is out and if Red Ruler is ruled out, Bauer is promoted to 23rd so will get a run regardless of the result of the Saab.

One thing I like about the Cup is the uncertainity of it all.

eg
If Chiefcomingfirst happened to cause a upset in the Saab Quality on Saturday, this would get him into the Cup after running 8th at Eagle Farm a fortnight ago.
I don't think Bevan Laming is getting to excited yet but stranger things have happened

BTW there is talk that All The Good is having problems , so I wouldn't be doing to much early punting on it yet.

Do u guys think that Barbaricus will run in the cup? To me I don't think he will get the distance... although that's just going by his Caufield Cup run (which I was proud of) I spose we will see tomorrow in the Mackinnon. Just didn't think a Lion Hunter could get the distance...

Yes was very suprised to see a Lion Hunter get the 2400m, but will be very supprised to see him get 3200 .... it will be a very different ball game in my way of thinking,

But stranger things have happened  :)

Yeh I'll have to agree with u there... I would hope they wouldn't push him the distance... Give another horse a chance that can run it

Ok, have jumped off All The Good with the problems he has experienced and have backed NOM DU JEU at $10 fixed betting on unitab

I think it is the value with Mad Rush being second favourite, and it's run was every bit as good in the CC running 2nd I would have thought .... likes it wet too doesn't it ?
