What would you consider middle tote?

I had a place bet at Terang and the 3 divs were 1.60, 1.70, 1.70

I'd say the middle tote is 1.70 but I received 1.60 which is the low tote, correct?

Count yourself lucky they didn't all pay $1.70 OL, they would have kept your money as there would have been no second highest div   :lol:

That's pretty crap - very misleading calling it middle tote, when they plainly mean 2nd highest div (excluding ties)

Yeah mate, that would have been interesting.

Imagine if it was 2.50, 2.50, 1.04 and it was a genuine 8/1 chance.

Back to mine, the 'real' divs could have been 1.79, 1.71, 1.61

So I gcould have been rounded down on a round down  :/

It happened again 1.50. 1.50, 1.20 however this time they paid me 1.50  :/

OldLarsy

Hope you e mailed Luxbet:

1) demanding they pay you $1.70;

2) that you have publicly shamed them (bad PR );

and 3) if Luxbet are so belligerent you will ask the NT Racing Disputes Commission to adjudicate on the matter. (I'll post the e mail address if you need to go down that path).

In  the interim if you wish to bet the PLACE on days like today why not try IASbet - their Super Price product is essentially a middle tote plus a fraction more. IASbet paid $1.71  div on La Choise today.

Also consider Sportsbet, their Country Best price product will ensure you best of the Supertab or NSWtab - the advantage being the company doesn't get to choose which dividend they are going to pay. Sportsbet will also bet you the best place dividend on Metro racing.

Cheers

Thanks for the concern and advice Charlie, I do indeed have IAS and Sportsbet

When you mentioned La Choise (Terang R2) I double checked all 3 totes for my horse, Chosen Flyer in race 3 Terang.

They are NSW 1.60, SUPER 1.60, UNI 1.70

I should have checked this before I even started this thread instead of relying on tv screen divs.

Thanks again and sorry for the confusion.

Randwick, Luxbet don't bet Best Tote on provincial gallops, to my knowledge none of the Corporates do. For provincial gallops Sportsbet will bet you the best of Supertab and NSWTab but they exclude Unitab.

Randwick, they bet Best Odds not Best Tote on provincial gallops according to their website. They bet Best Tote/SP (Maxidiv) on Metropolitan gallops only.

Best Odds

Placing Win Only or Win/Place Best Odds wagers on either the Internet or Telephone, guarantees the better of the official Bookmakers' starting price (SP) and the official Win dividend declared by a TAB as nominated by the client.

Middle tote is no bargain, in fact no better than betting same tote all the time. Checked out a full 12 months results, there's nothing in it for you.

Best of two designated totes would be OK if you could get it, though not sure if any do offer it now.

Examined this last year, oldlarsy, gallops only, all races where three totes operated, three columns on excel spreadsheet, median function applied, proportional staking used, not a cigarette paper's width between all three totes and the median. Might have a look and see if I saved the file.
