JT on SKY said "head on is not available for viewing" so I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether the stewards were correct in their decision. # Logged arakaan Group 1 User 192 Posts: 10699 « 2009-Jan-06, 05:09 PM Reply #1 » no one shadow of a doubt the protest should've been upheld. Would've taken them 1-2 mins at most to deliberate.it hung in and stopped the 2nd horse completely dead in its tracks twice. As soon as the second horse got the clear running it went straight into second closing in on the winner. # Logged gratlog Group 1 User 5 Posts: 12700 « 2009-Jan-06, 05:12 PM Reply #2 » Base , I didn't see the race, but can understand you wanting your's to get up.Good price and good bet # Logged Authorized Group 1 User 18 Posts: 31348 « 2009-Jan-06, 05:13 PM Reply #3 » In my opinion the rules should be that the first over the line should have been relegated, but as the rule stand no way should that have been upheld. # Logged Authorized Group 1 User 18 Posts: 31348 « 2009-Jan-06, 05:14 PM Reply #4 » You were stiff Base, 99/100 times that would have been dismissed. But that is what ya get with the rules as they stand. # Logged Bundy VIP Club Group 2 User 174 Posts: 4131 « 2009-Jan-06, 05:24 PM Reply #5 » Was never going to be dismissed...ever # Logged Base Class2 User 335 Posts: 22 « 2009-Jan-06, 05:47 PM Reply #6 » Thanks fellas, at least I don't feel cheated - only light in the pocket. With my luck if it rained film stars I would end up with Phillis Diller or possibly Rock Hudson!I don't know how others feel but at the end of most days I usually feel stiff in the wrong places.Even a movie rated as 4.5 by David Stratton and Margaret Pomerantz I feel unlucky after I've seen it! # Logged Big Wheel VIP Club Group 2 User 269 Posts: 2161 « 2009-Jan-07, 07:41 AM Reply #7 » Base I TO WAS ON CAVAN DANCER but i think it was the jock on the horse that cost us he had cassidy in a pocketand let him out he should of kept him there not gone for home on the turn, put it this way swap the jocks and Cavan wins # Logged wily ole dog Group 1 User 218 Posts: 30455 « 2009-Jan-07, 07:55 AM Reply #8 » I was on the Dancer as well and was convinced I was going to lose my cash.It should have been upheld, especially if you compared it to the farce of the Villiers and takeover target # Logged Authorized Group 1 User 18 Posts: 31348 « 2009-Jan-07, 09:05 AM Reply #9 » You people have gone all soft. If this had happened 18 months ago the stewards would not have left the course in one piece.9/10 stewards panels in this country would have dismissed that objection. # Logged Bundy VIP Club Group 2 User 174 Posts: 4131 « 2009-Jan-07, 09:08 AM Reply #10 » your kidding Author....most blatant interference I have seen for ages.....oh wait....you are kidding....silly me # Logged Big Wheel VIP Club Group 2 User 269 Posts: 2161 « 2009-Jan-07, 11:02 AM Reply #11 » YOUR IN NEED OF GLASSES BUD THAT WAS THE MOST OBVUPHELD I HAVE EVER SEEN THE BLOKE FLATTENED HIM TWICEAND I WAS EVEN ON THE WINNER AND RIPPED UP MY TICKET B4IT WAS NOTIFED THERE WAS A PROTEST, IT WAS THE SPASTICS FAULT FOR NOT STEERING AND HE ALSO HAD HIM IN A POCKET AND LET HIM OUT, IT SHOULD OF WON BY 10 MATE!!!!!!!! # Logged Authorized Group 1 User 18 Posts: 31348 « 2009-Jan-07, 11:06 AM Reply #12 » i DOUBT YOU DID BACK IT. # Logged Authorized Group 1 User 18 Posts: 31348 « 2009-Jan-07, 11:07 AM Reply #13 » You guys have judged this purely from the side on view ? # Logged Big Wheel VIP Club Group 2 User 269 Posts: 2161 « 2009-Jan-07, 11:09 AM Reply #14 » i SWEAR ON MY 2 DAUGHTERS I DID BACK IT I BACKEDTHE HORSE ITS LAST 3 # Logged Big Wheel VIP Club Group 2 User 269 Posts: 2161 « 2009-Jan-07, 11:11 AM Reply #15 » the ANGLES DONT CHANGE THE INTERFERANCE MATE, NO DISREPECT TO YA MATE, BUT FAIR DINKUM # Logged Authorized Group 1 User 18 Posts: 31348 « 2009-Jan-07, 11:16 AM Reply #16 » I have seen horses cause more interference and win by a lip and not lose the race. From the side on angle i was and am very very surprised they upheld it.I am not disputing the interference.Wily comparing it to The Villiers takes the cake. # Logged Big Wheel VIP Club Group 2 User 269 Posts: 2161 « 2009-Jan-07, 11:21 AM Reply #17 » FAIR ENOUGH,BUT THE STEWARDS RULE ON IF THE HORSE WOULD OF WON HAD IT NOT SUFFERED THE INTERFERANCE AND IM SURE HAD THAT NOT HAVE HAPPENED THE 2ND HORSE DOES BEAT IT, BUT LOOK MATE IM NO STEWARD AND I RESPECT YOUR OPINION, # Logged wily ole dog Group 1 User 218 Posts: 30455 « 2009-Jan-07, 06:21 PM Reply #18 » AuthorI did see the head on and it was worse. In the Villiers Honor in War didn't have to check abruptly or change course very much at allthe 2nd horse in this case was stopped dead in it's tracks and the jock was up in the irons. # Logged Authorized Group 1 User 18 Posts: 31348 « 2009-Jan-07, 06:59 PM Reply #19 » Where did you see the head on, nobody has shown it on the home channels ? # Logged wily ole dog Group 1 User 218 Posts: 30455 « 2009-Jan-07, 07:22 PM Reply #20 » I'm sure I saw about 15 minutes after the race on either sky or tvnMaybe I'm delirious because I didn't expect to collect # Logged wily ole dog Group 1 User 218 Posts: 30455 « 2009-Jan-08, 04:32 PM Reply #21 » Bloody hell It appears that I've been debating something we agreed on.Went to collect my cavan dancer. I was told the protest was dismissed Ouch, no collect for wily and plenty of confusion.just to clarify, it was rightfully upheld........much to my detriment # Logged westie Group 1 User 8 Posts: 16173 « 2009-Jan-27, 10:40 AM Reply #22 » From the MSN Site: The New Horse Racing Community Forum Reply Recommend Message 1 of 201 in Discussion From: Luskin_Star© (Original Message) Sent: 26/01/2008 4:51 PM For all discussions pertaining to protests. King Leonidas.I saw the head on and it looked clear cut. PROTEST UPHELD. But no it wasn't. There was severe intimidation and a brush, it should have been enough. Was it a matter of Cassidy out talking the kid? # Logged westie Group 1 User 8 Posts: 16173 « 2009-Jan-27, 10:43 AM Reply #24 » Reply Recommend Message 2 of 201 in Discussion From: MattDjebel31 Sent: 26/01/2008 4:58 PM Reply Recommend Message 3 of 201 in Discussion From: j.r.b. Sent: 26/01/2008 6:23 PM The protest on the last at the GC will be upheld for sure. I haven't seen the interference and I don't need to. All I need to know is that I'm on the first past the post at 12/1 on betfair, and that's the sort of day I'm having. Reply Recommend Message 4 of 201 in Discussion From: arakaan Sent: 26/01/2008 6:29 PM Ray Murrihy would uphold it. He threw his ticket away and i mentioned to him might be a protest & to maybe hang on to it. He watched the replay and thought it was the other horse on the inside that caused the interference not Mr M. And what do you know protest upheld and he collects, I lose! Reply Recommend Message 7 of 201 in Discussion From: arakaan Sent: 26/01/2008 7:57 PM they showed the head on spudda. definately a shft from the outside horse. Unlike the Takeover Target one the 2nd horse was actually in and entitled to the run in this one. Reply Recommend Message 9 of 201 in Discussion From: Luskin_Star© Sent: 28/01/2008 5:25 PM Arakaan, I was most surprised there was no protest in that race. The winner definitely cut across in front of Emperator, taking his running. However despite Emperator running the winner to a nose, alas, no protest. I Wonder what Ray was doing or was he asleep or just not enough media around today. By the way both winners deserved to stay winners. Reply Recommend Message 12 of 201 in Discussion From: Mullerbeck Sent: 2/02/2008 3:25 PM Hard to see any more trivial protest the one in Sydney in race 4. From head on, the runner up was shifting in, although horses were never closer than 1 m apart. Looks like young Kody Nestor will be fined for trivial protest.
