The racing media is consolidating
Richie deserves his chance -- so did his old partner at TVN, Bruce Clark, but his time at Racenet was short.
It is also well past time for Brent Zerafa to be returned to NSW -- he is being harshly and unusually punished @RdotC.
The racing media has taken time to recover and consolidate after the collapse of TVN -- a best-on-one-channel concept that should be restored.
RVL took its bat and all and went home to plan the mess that is now Melbourne racing.
If NINE MEDIA is true to its claim of 'independent always' we should soon see some insightful investigation of what passes for 'racing' in Victoria -- and some explanation of why addicted punters keep kicking the tin.
Racenet has emerged a winner -- especially with the Sportsman priced at $7.50 and not available til Friday.
Punters.com.au is a useful competitive complement in form analysis as is the the 528 form talk for Sydney on Thursday nights.
............as for RVL's RdotC and most of its overcrowded low-grade racing, the less said the better.
Even so, if what RVL serves up is what punters in Melbourne want, it points to a clear cultural gap with Sydney -- on a par with the chasm that separates Queensland!
[By way of a 'PS' -- I would like to know the broad outline of the commercial interests in the ownership of both Racenet and Punters.com.au]
