What an avalanche of feedback to date!

Consider Tabcorp's gem to lure you to this product:

That happens to be plain fraud.

The product does not offer unparalled access.

I use products that give me superior access.

The API that Tabcorp pulled the plug on almost certainly gave superior access.

Anyone here can instantly have superior access, just by using the Tabcorp site.

As for being Australia's most trusted, wonder what evidence Tabcorp can provide?

Powering the bet
Australia’s most trusted wagering company is now offering unparalleled, real-time access to its NSW and VIC sports and racing wagering information through its powerful new API. Go ahead, and revolutionise your betting experience.

Anyone trying to figure out what Tab Studio actually does will soon have to resort to clicking the Delve Deeper link.

That in turn leads you to documentation.

Back to the very place you started from!

How could such a monumental blunder elude quality control!

The only way I can think of, is that Tabcorp decided to save money by not bothering with quality control, and instead let patrons do Tabcorp's job for them.

This involves filling in some moronic form to send it off to some generic support group which is probably unaware that Tab Studio exists.

And eventually you'll get a response that fails to answer your question, but instead lies about how terrific Tab Studio is.

Thanks JFC I would have liked to see what it was all about, however they declined my attempt at registration, so no bother  as I can still use my Tabcorp account when my Four by First Fours partial self-parlay activity needs to spread the bet, more efficiently.

Has Tab Studio anything to do with MS Visual Studio or is it just a poor selection of names. Cheers.

My bet is what Tabcorp is doing with Tab Studio is illegal.

It suggests that patrons need the product to get the latest information, but refuses to provide any specific disclosure.

Unless you register.

But registration demands answers to a question impossible to answer.

If you don't know what Tab Studio does, it is impossible to declare what software you will be using.

Particularly when it's possible to use it with no extra software than your browser already provides.

Then there's the question of signing your life away by accepting the draconian T&C's.

Which allows Tabcorp to sue you to its heart's content!

And after all that you might find that, like Pegasyber, Tabcorp might reject you.

Tabcorp might think it's a bit like John West.

But I happen to think that:

It's the scumbags Tabcorp accepts

That make Tabcorp the worst.

jfc and pegasyber,

I decided not to bother and thats looking like a wise decision right now.

I was not thinking like Groucho Marx but simply preferring to rely on all of my own software. PLUS it looked lke someting they'd given scant attention to so far.

I was silly enough to try and do a recent survey for TABcorp that they got another company to do for them but after 10 minutes or so and 80% of the way through it completely froze and refused to let me proceed any further  ---- NEVER AGAIN.... the professionalism is just not there.

Fours

PS Pegaysber you may not have met their turnover requirements would be my guess

Before exploring what information advances Tab Studio, let's consider how adequate existing Tabcorp information is.

For NSW, currently int the Pools segment there are some ">"'s followed by this explanation:

>International totalisator pools are being pooled into SuperTAB or NSWTAB

That is plain wrong!

It suggests that Supertab might be hosting this Pool. That would be illegal!

Again this is testament to the abysmal quality control on the site.

The correct statement should be something like:

"NSW is hosting international pools"

By the way, some punters might feel they should be told who the guest Totes are.

Now, rather than the ">"'s and "<"'s which sometimes both appear together in that segment, surely it would be far clearer to replace those easily confusable characters with H and g!

A matter of trust

My eyes rolled to the 'oh no' position at the mention of the word 'trust' adjacent to Tabcorp  -- it can be trusted all right.

One might hope that Tabcorp would be the best ally of modest-betting punters in the quest to ensure that the racing industry is administered fairly in the interests of most of its TAB customers.

It was for many years -- as a benign government-owned monopoly.

That hope is now forlorn -- Tabcorp knows the industry is run hard against most of its betting customers.

Along with industry administrators and racing ministers, Tabcorp is the lynchpin tax-gatherer for a most unholy alliance ranged against the very industry participants, most TAB punters, that it and its allies should be serving very differently.

I do not trust Tabcorp to act in my interests -- I am wary of anything they do 'to help me'.

........ and as an aside on the matter of trust, it cannot be long before which bank ditches the gold and black symbol plastered all over the cricketing business.......... every time I see it, I am reminded.

A challenge to all!

What is the Rake on this NSW Quinella Pool?

Where does Tabcorp tell us?

Warning: This could be an elaborate trap - particularly for Philby.

There was $4.50 in the Running Double pool races 9-10.

No winner.

$3.60 jackpot.

20% seems a bit stiff  :chin:

Translation of above:

Dunno the Quinella Rake,
cos the Quinella didn't jackpot!

Perhaps Tabcorp should add this clause to its help section:

To determine the Rake on any Pool , merely check to see if it jackpots completely, then perform PP7's calculation.

My challenge remains open, so as to build the suspense.

But further to the question of the unparalleled information provided by Tabcorp.

Why can't Tabcorp provide every Internet client with the information it provided in 1992?

Back then it (reluctantly) introduced the 537 Teletext page showing Trifecta Trends.

Tabcorp could easily provide Trifecta and F4 Trends on its site.

Furthermore that data could be provided in 2 formats:

- the current deranged format showing bizarre dividends

 plus

- the original useful format showing actual units invested.

"Pari" is a combining form meaning "equal".

But evidently this pari-mutuel considers some punters more pari than others.

Here's a further challenge.

This one should be easier to answer.

And I believe many here will learn something by trying it.

For NSW, what are the Quinella Rakes for any of the international meetings?

The only question that jumps out is:  How do I get a feed of the Q and or E approximates programatically?

bascoe

Follow up such questions here.

Maybe Philby can pull strings to get through to some Tabcorp colleague who knows the answer?

Had the sound up on SKY the other day for some strange reason. Heard Libby Hopwood giving tips for great variety of places. All I  can remember about her was that you wanted a few extra points when she was riding them. I presume that as a jockey she wasn't punting on them . We all know that even "Ollie" has only had one bet in his life ! How does she suddenly become someone who should be advising punters where to put their money ? That is bad enough , but the real tragedy would be if some pitiful souls are actually  listening to her. That is disgraceful.

Philby - can you advise why mere mortal - non premium - customers cannot see Trifecta and FF approximates via the website OR via the TabStudio API?

Is there some turnover threshold that enables a punter to access the premium feed via the API?

HMMMM so this was my response from TAB Studio
Quote
Dear Troy,
Thank you for your enquiry.

We regret to inform you that your request for access to the new API application has not been approved.  Please note that access to TAB Web Service and TAB Data is entirely at the discretion of the Tabcorp Group.

Additional information can be found at “TAB Web Services Terms of Use – account customers” section on the TAB Customer Help page: https://help.tab.com.au/s/article/TAB-Web-Services-Terms-of-Use

Regards,

TAB Digital Team
Why is this - is this because they asked me how much I will put make a month and at this stage since I am not making much I put down $500

Copied into the apt thread.

Strange response.

Seems the only ones they allow in are the ones who don't want to use it!

Anyway it's still possible to use parts of it without their approval, as illustrated earlier in this thread.

Anyone know what kind of requirements TAB require before they grand TAB Web Service accounts? They don't say explicitly but they ask for monthly turn-over.
