Put on pause Rodent - this email was received last week :

"Hi Maximus,
As a fan of exotic bets, we wanted to share that from Tuesday 7 July 2020 we will be pausing two products for a short time. This pause will impact:
•   Treble
•   FootyTAB
These changes are only temporary, however. We're looking forward to re-launching both very soon along with some exciting new changes.
Why are we changing these bet types?
We continually review the use and popularity of various products. We need to pause Treble and FootyTAB for a little while to make way for some exciting new changes over the coming months.
When are we pausing these bet types?
These changes will occur on Tuesday 7 July 2020."

I got the same email Maximus and I reckon it is the weirdest thing.

It is like someone buttering you up before telling you dog has died or something.

So the products are not "popular". They are suspending them - temporarily. But making some "exciting" changes.

What possible changes could you make to a parimutuel treble?

Let me guess.

It will be replaced by some "exciting" new fixed odds service operating at 150% that evolves around you selecting 3 horses or footy teams.

TAB is turning it's back on it's most valuable asset - it's license to operate parimutuel pools.

Bring back the Caulfield Cup - Melbourne Cup double pools. They are a far better product than the hideous Odds and Evens crap.

I am pretty sure the 'changes' are getting Qld Tab - Tatts - Ubet-  whatever they are called now ready for backend amalgamation with TABcorp - which will create some pain for a few who use the free Tatts json api.

To me this TAB are just an irrelevance. I live in Queensland and bet 364 days a year but haven't bothered with this mob for at least ten years.

Gun, I find the NSW tab as good as anyone. I bet with them more often than not.
The corporates leave me very cold with their conduct

Ahem,

Corps have restrictions on max payouts for exotics.

Big mistake to use them if you are capable of snaring big first fours etc.

Frankly, I don’t see any real benefits to betting with the corporates aside from the small sign up deals
