It was the first day of V'Landys appeal.

It's impossible to see just what he's appealing about.
He did originally sue for "The Hurt"....now it's because the program made him look "hopeless".
He was the boss of harness racing before RNSW......so little aftercare for the standardbred and everyone knows that.....I mean EVERYBODY

What a ridiculous stunt by a well funded industry.....the slaughter of thoroughbreds goes on in knackeries and abattoirs today, just as it's always done.

One reminded V'Landys his "regulatory system was lamentably inadequate".....just what the "Final race" program was all about, in a nutshell.

I did read where 3 days had been set aside for the appeal.
Money no object for RNSW......poor old welfare fund.....be different if V'Landys had to pay for this nonsense....what a hero.

I only stumbled on this tonight.....that's all I've got.....will try to follow it now.
It will all be fully reported on RNSW, all racing publications including Racenet or one of the Newscorpse outlets for sure????...won't it????

............. no one alerted us the case coming to court ........ and it is difficult to find the 'list' wher this case will continue.

Unless someone does, it may well be over before anyone gets a chance to observe and report on the proceedings.

Anyone know what the vicinity of the legal fees will be? I heard if Vlandys loses, it could be a few million if he has to pay costs.

Just put P V'Landys name in the search Peter.

Case is adjourned with judgement reserved.

You would think if Bret Walker was able to land any telling blows, certain media people would be very quick to report this.....just silence.
Most extraordinary waste of money.....what for????.... to try and silence a truthteller.

The response from one judge says it all..regulatory system was lamentably inadequate.....on the first day as well.

Anyone know how the Capertee farm is going?....staff numbers, re-homing numbers etc, etc.
2017 RNSW bought that property..

RNSW don't seem to be promoting the Razorback property they were using with RSL Lifecare anymore.
V'Landys must have failed in his court action on that property.

Whatever the outcome, there is a moral dilemma on display here.

At some point RNSW, among many others, many many others, must address the potential misuse of 'unlimited corporate funds' to both prosecute and pursue people of modest means.

A a very minimum, a public corporate person claiming 'defamation' must have substantial personal skin-in-the-game and on the line.

............... the inclination to take a free kick would be much reduced if the referee decided the 'kick' went out of bounds.
