No idea if this is true , but if young Maher has gotten himself involved with this king of the low lifes it won't do his future any good whatsoever. If I knew he was training for this grub he would never ever get one of mine. I could assure him of that.

https://www.punters.com.au/news/Ciaron-Mahers-racing-manager-stands-down_153558/

CM reports evidence of banking transactions lead to Foster's niece...the horse was reportedly bought for some $280K  and then on sold to Connolly for a reported $60K......it has won $1.5M Connolly wasn't at EF for the Stradbroke but Foster was. :o

Terry Bailey is on record previously as saying the claim of ownership was investigated and he was satisfied it was above board. :o

OUT OF THE RACE

Turf officials ban top mare linked to notorious conman Foster

EXCLUSIVE DAVID MURRAY

RACEHORSE Azkadellia has been stood down amid an investigation into whether its real owner is notorious Gold Coast conman Peter Foster.

Racing Victoria yesterday confirmed it would reject any race nominations for the mare, who started favourite in this year’s Stradbroke Handicap and won the $1 million Queen of the Turf Stakes at Royal Randwick.

Entries for three other racehorses – Hart, Loveable Rogue and Mr Simples – will also be rejected because of suspected Foster links.

All were registered as being owned by Ben Connolly, racing manager for leading Victorian trainer Ciaron Maher. The Courier-Mail can reveal bank records show transfers of large sums of money from Mr Connolly’s accounts to one of Foster’s closest associates.

Recent reports suggested Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Michelle Payne was in the mix to ride Azkadellia, while there were also plans to take the horse to the Breeders’ Cup in California. Azkadellia has already won more than $1.5 million in prizemoney.

Records sighted by The Courier-Mail show a bank account associated with Foster’s niece Arabella Foster made a $280,000 payment in August 2014 that is believed to be for the purchase of Azkadellia.

Mr Connolly bought the racehorse just over a year later, in September last year, with bank statements indicating he paid as little as $60,000.

At the time, investigations were ramping up into Foster’s secret links to the Sports Trading Club, which has been accused of fleecing 400 investors of up to $29 million.

Private investigator Ken Gamble has been pursuing Foster’s assets on behalf of investors and yesterday said he would seek to seize ownership of the racehorses.

“We are intending to file a court injunction to prevent the horses from being sold until such times as the investigation is complete,” Mr Gamble said.

Foster is a horse-racing fanatic and has a long association with Mr Maher, trainer of all four suspended horses.

Racing Victoria stewards have interviewed Mr Maher and Mr Connolly and advised them of the horses’ rejections.

The investigation followed an exclusive report in The Sunday Mail in June, which revealed Foster’s links to Azkadellia.

Just wondering why the tote paid a 3rd dividend and fixed odds didn't. How does that work? I don't think it was a late scratching.

I would presume fixed odds pay 2 dividends under Australian rules

but tote is under Singapore rules which must be different.

This used to be a good thread in times past.

Some rubbish from me but otherwise some interesting info.

Just for a interest I have backed Hey Doc in Australian Guineas.
Put it on Ubet as money back offer if runs second or third

Good luck with yours

Good luck to all having a bet today.

A lot of rock throwers re Eagle  Farm but just bet elsewhere would be my advice.

While people blame the track for not getting a winner they are leaving the jockeys alone.😀

Maybe they  are just hopeless punters like me.
I'm having a little ew on Jimmy Rea in the first at Eagle Farm and hoping the track goes OK as it is so important to those in the game

May the luck be with you today

Grats - I haven't seen many blame the track for not getting winners but surely what has been served up today so far is an embarrassment.

True mate.
Then again people are still betting on it.
Wonder what the turnover will be.
You think it would be well down but a lot of punters just don't care

Be good if someone would just stand up and say they stuffed up.
They can't afford to start again I should imagine

Serious punters might not be interested but you can get some good mail,on Twitter for those of us that just punt for the fun of it.

Brad Davidson is one worth following sometimes
Chris Nelson (@qldtrials) also has some good days

In saying that I rarely back their tips but just like to see how they go
My shorties for today
130.-M2/5-pl
200- M3/10-win
300- M5/1-pl
315- S5/6-pl
425- S7/4 @ 1.60
430- M8/6
500- S8/5

I just back the first five and reinvest any return

Nothing serious but I'm confined to the house due to health reasons so it does pass the time of day without much cost

A nice roast lunch plus a few bets at Ipswich adds up to a good day.

Might have a few cents on Scoutabout in R3.

Wonder what the treble will pay if the three odds on pops get up😀

Well done hope you had more on R3 select than the treble. All faves rolled.

Thanks mate.
I couldn't believe how well Scoutabout paid.

You do see a lot of shorties beaten at Ipswich hence I only had the minimum on the treble.

All good fun
