I don't know whether it is John Sadler or the owners who have been responsible for determining where Usain Bowler runs. Whoever it is should  just hang their head in shame.

On December the 22nd, at his second run after a spell, he won a 1200m Benchmark 78 race at Flemington with absolute ease after coming from last. The win gave him a rating of 77.

He is then taken to the Gold Coast and starts in the 1200 MM sprint where he earns $25 000 for running 5th. Why was he put in the sprint when clearly on his Flemington win he should have been in the MM Cup over 1400M? Same prize money and an easier race.

Next after finding out that 1200M at the Gold Coast was too short for him, the horse finds himself in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate over 1100M at Caulfield  . He starts @ $51 and  runs 11th earning no money but beating home 7 other horses. Some of those 7 horses are very  good short course horses.

Not content with this race, 2 weeks later we find Usain Bowler in the Newmarket. This time he starts @ $101 and again earns no money but again beats home 7 smart horses.

Clearly there is nothing wrong with the horse or he wouldn't be finishing in front of all these smart  horses. Sure  a few of them may have pulled up sore but I bet it is more likely 1 or 2 in both races. So the horse has won $25 000 in the 10 weeks since his impressive Flemington win.

We have a Topic bagging Jockeys called Worst Rides Ever. The connections of Usain Bowler should go into a Category of Worst Decisions made by Connections Ever.

My previous comment spoke rather disparagingly about the placement of Usain Bowler last preparation.

First up this time the connections went for the 1 000M race at Flemington, rather than the 1 200M for which he was also nominated .The 1000M was obviously too short. However I'll give the connections the benefit of the doubt as maybe he wasn't fit enough for the 1 200M.

This weekend  he was nominated for the 1 200M at Moonee Valley on Saturday and the 1 200M at Sandown on Sunday.

He has accepted for Saturday's race and I'm thinking, even though it is an infinitely harder race, they have made the right decision this time. So I'll be backing him tomorrow.

Let's hope that Usain Bowler hasn't been turned into a clone of that other infamous So You Think horse So Si Bon and still knows how to win.

The horse is a talent but his best and worst seem to be his pattern
