I never went to races before the era when Leilani won the Caulfield Cup and Manikato won the Caulfield Guineas and I thought Mighty Kingdom was better than Kingston Town (oops) but I reckon Winx is the best I have seen and they are just a few of many fantastic horses who at their top rate as world class as Black Caviar, So You Think,  Takeover Target, Sunline, Better Loosen Up and Horlicks etc obviously proved.

Cheers

Tim, they all proved themselves as world class but donít forget there were plenty more that didnít travel but were as good if not better than them.

Due to those travelling and performing  we also know that the likes of Northerly, lonhro, Fairway, Vo Rogue all would haven performed OS.

In short, we are in a slump at the moment, Winx aside, but generally our best are as good as theirs.

Donít forget Starspangledbanner and Elvestroem did okay overseas as well

In an interview this morning there was an indication from Waller that she will be retired after an autumn campaign with her finale being the Queen Elizabeth.

Why retire her?

She doesn't know how old she is.

Just that she's better than any other.

I could be wrong but that seemed to be the feeling from Waller.

It makes sense, her racing wear and tear is more like a 6 year old's  than a 7 year old because of Waller's superb management but 8 years old is getting into the area where she's going to fade even allowing for the fact that she was a late bloomer.

Waller and the connections will be very keen to retire her at the top.

I reckon that plan has been a lock for a long, long while.

Otherwise we would have seen Winx 'farewells' everywhere  :chin:

Not to mention she would have sat around awaiting the breeding season.

I reckon a 5th Cox Plate after being served by Snitzel is the go... ;)
She could do it.

I'd like her to have a lovely candlelight dinner with Frankel.

Maybe they could meet in Bali or Thailand.

Didn't anyone else notice the number of times WINX dropped/dipped her head in the run, which is uncharacteristic for a horse in full flight?.
Winx has nothing more to prove and yet given the chance she may also astound in the breeding barn and/or
Equine Family Trees, for many years to come.

No, as the words go In Pretty Woman :

Quote
"It Must Have Been Love"

(it must have been love but it's over now)

Lay a whisper on my pillow,
Leave the winter on the ground.
I wake up lonely, there's air of silence
In the bedroom and all around

Touch me now, I close my eyes and dream away.

It must have been love but it's over now.
It must have been good but I lost it somehow.
It must have been love but it's over now.
From the moment we touched, 'til the time had run out.

Give her that chance; the worst of the alternatives, should it happen,  would  break the racing fraternity's heart.

She does have a tatoo.

But what a foal that might turn out to be.

I donít care about any of those fractions. Got it 10 times so happy to collect the $385
My post admonished Bubba for his deranged estimate of F4 truncation.

In return I get this rubbish which is a squillion times worse.

I don't know how many times seasoned punters need to be told that, generally-

Any Tote Exotic with Winx is bad value. Worse than simply having her for a Win.

The F4 with its 22.5+% Rake is the worst.

The only Exotic worth considering is the Duet leaving out Winx.

The most promising pertinent Markets were on Betfair.

Winner without Winx.

And the 4 Place Market.

It is insane to laboriously do the form for a race, then squander that effort by betting on the wrong Markets.
