Pierro is my hope.

I doubt they have any particular type in mind. She is an immortal she had no specialty. To me Pierro gives you a potential everything - He was a champion 2yo who was bred to be a 2400m horse and who is siring a wide variety of classy conveyances.

Whoever they go to I hope they visit that stallion 3 or 4 times before trying something different.

Why that is a really nice thing to say Trav.
Not up to it, unfortunately.
Snitzel all the way.
Danehill blood is required.

48.2% vs 45.5% Runners to winners,  Snitz vs Pierro
Clearly, Snitzel is the superior sire..    :bleh: :clap2:.
It's not a ladder one would need, I just like to go out with a girl for at least a year before...you know.
And with Winx, there just ain't time.
Besides, if you saw my progeny run, well , you would not be "going" to Shogun Lodge. :nowink:

Hmmm,

On at least two occasions Sunline tried to bite Shogun Lodge - a distinct dislike for some unknown reason!

Shogun Lodge and Danewin would have won more G1s with better rides.

Shogun ran 2nd in about 12 Group 1's...
About 10 of em had ridiculously slow early sections, which fed into that record.
She wanted to bite him because he ran straight past her as a 3 year old...a George Main or something...

I think that was just Sunline.

Claire Bird was bitten often.

I looked at his record again. He was very good and never ducked a battle. Raced against Lonhro, Sunline, Fairway to name a few. Still managed 3G1s.

2yo - 3rd in the Slipper and Champagne Stakes

3yo - 2nd in Spring Champion, 2nd VRC Derby, 2nd ATC Derby

4yo - 2nd Caulfield Stakes, 2nd George Ryder, 2nd Doncaster, 2nd Doomben Cup,

5yo - 2nd George Main, 2nd Caulfield Stakes, 2nd George Ryder, 2nd Doncaster

6yo - 2nd Geroge Main

When you look at horses that are unlucky but wonderful in their own right, it puts into perspective Winx and her winning streak.

Lonhro, Occy,  Northerly, Sunline, Saintly, Might and Power, Makybe Diva, Tie the Knot and I probably forgot a few were prime examples of this.

Shogun Lodge had 31 Group 1 starts. A real favourite of mine and a sad way to go with that massive  heart attack in the Emirates.
Not many get 12 G1 seconds to go with 3 G1 wins

To some level I agree with you, Wily. However, on the list how many won multiple G1 handicaps?

I stand to be corrected but the maximum Is probably 3-4. I canít remember Lonhro or Occy winning a G1 handicap. Saintly won 1 but that was the big one.

Might and Power plus Makybe Diva showed their true class in handicap staying races while Sunline was just a great, great horse. Northerly only won one G1 handicap but that was CC.

However all of them were beaten at WFA races at times or did not have the longevity of being unbeaten over 4 years. Horses have off days like any sports stars but Winx would even win on bad days.

There may have been off days for them but realistically they were put in races which werenít designed to protect a winning streak

Lonhro for example winning the Australian Cup then dropping back to the Ryder

Or Vo Rogue winning the Australian Cup and dropping back to a listed 1200m race the next week

No way would the connections of Winx jeopardise the streak to do those freakish thing
