Can someone advise me of, or point me to where I can find, the finishing order of Luskin Star's 1977 Golden Slipper?

Thanks

That race was run on 26th March 1977. I cannot find results in Sydney papers. Full results are in The Age on Monday 28th March.

Re the last question. 50 years ago, on 22nd of March 1969 I was at Rosehill when Vain won The Slipper. Special Girl was odds on fav. Does anyone think there has been a better or easier winner.

Yes. In 1957 I was at the first Slipper.  Todman won in a breeze.

I was also at Randwick  two or three weeks later when he went down to Tulloch in the Sires.

Two great horses and Vain was a third,

Was there a reason or a memory lane waltz

The reason was that a mate advised me that someone rang in a radio station and said that the top 10  finishers of Luskin Star's Slipper had won Group1s in their careers.

"Was this likely?" he asked.

From my count from the info ColJ supplied I make it each of the top 4 did so plus Mistress Anne.

Might make it an interesting task for someone who has the finishing order for all Slippers- "Which Slipper had the most eventual Group 1 winners?"

I see Sam Hyland is now giving selections from Toowoomba.

Has he gone North?

Yes. Has been on Brisbane coverage for a month or so.

50 years ago on the 5th April 1969 I was at Royal Randwick when Vain ( 6-1 on} was second to Beau Babylon in The Sires Produce. It was his first of only two defeats. The Autumn carnival of that year was famous for the feat of George Moore. He had 25 rides in the 29 races over 4 days. How many winners did he have?

Correct. On Easter Monday he won 5 of the 7 races and son Gary rode one winner. The other race was The Sydney Cup won by Lowland ridden by Roy Higgins.       1.1 KB    image.png                  Check                                            Error                                                          2.2 KB    clap2[1].gif                  Check                                            Error

Yes, well when I say a guess there was some mummering from the deep recesses of my memory which led me to the answer.

TAB races tomorrow are at Mildura, Ballina and Scone - 22races  in total.

From what I can see the prizemoney for 18races is $22,000.

And for 4 races at Mildura prizemoney is $23,000.

Isn't it odd that the races bearing the most are maidens?

I haven't been watching all that closely but it seemed to me there was a big increase in prizemoney in Adelaide last weekend.   My memory , for what it's worth,is that for wuite a while now the usual Saturday prizemoney per race was $40,00 (or was it $60,000). Last Saturday the money was up to $100,00>  What gives?
