RVL on the slippery slope?

Situations unfold unevenly and in complex ways.

I have a real allergy to the Racing.com broadcast presenters -- simply could not watch a 'get on' become 'get-off'.

The news that David Gately no longer fits in that RVL culture is not surprising -- and I would also be pleased to see NSW welcome back Brent Zerafra.

............ one very welcome exposure would be the 'presenter guidelines' given to R.Com presenters................. there do seem to be tight restrictions on any allusions to tips gone astray and punters expectations being unfairly disappointed.

Trio finally back up (in NSW also).

After ~2 months!

Guess TABCORP expects us to allow their Longitude Technology some latitude.

Breeding & Bloodstock / Boom off the Boom
« Last post by j.r.b. on 2019-Mar-19, 10:45 AM  »
It's 12 months ago that the Magic Millions QTIS yearling sale went through the roof with Spirit of Boom fever.

He had the top 14 sellers, and 18 of the top 20, ranging from $430,000 to $140,000.

Early on in the second day of the 2 day sale this year, and things aren't looking quite so rosy. At the time of writing, the Boomster's got the top price - $220,000, but only 5 of the top 20 sellers, with the 4 others making $110,000, $100,000, $77,500 and $70,000.

Things may pick up as the day goes on, and there's still a decent number of breeders making a good quid at this sale off his $11,000 service fee, so it's hardly doom and gloom.

But it ain't the lottery winning-type windfall of last year, and frankly, I'd be a little nervous if I'd sent mares to him in 2018 at the increased fee of $55,000.

Breeding & Bloodstock / Merchant Navy -v- Russian Revolution

Well, they'll both get every chance.

Merchant Navy served 246 mares.

Russian Revolution served 226 mares.

My 5 minute glance at both stallions' books tells me that Russian Revolution's had slightly more quality

Breeding & Bloodstock / Aclaim to shuttle to Aquis
« Last post by j.r.b. on 2019-Mar-19, 08:58 AM  »
Bold and interesting move.

He was a genuinely top class racehorse, whose best performance was his last - a win in the G1 Prix de La Foret on Arc day.  I suspect he had more to give, but they pulled up stumps at the end of his 4yo season, figuring he'd done enough - 15 starts for 7 wins.

Like the supreme Dark Angel, he's by Acclamation, and has been very popular at home thus far.

............... is an open cheque book being misused to run up legal costs for the trainer?

RQL needs to take the lead here and defer any suspension until all the charges have been heard and resolved cleanly.
