Not sure, but glad he isn't coming to Brisbane.

If he was certain not to get into trouble he would have been a great asset.

I think there is a final draft on 16 December but believe his chances slim, it depends what spots the few remaining clubs have.

Not sure if they have made it public yet but I am led to believe Richmond are interested.

They are looking to get the AFL to let them put Polak on the rookie list because he still hasnt recovered properly. If they get the go ahead they will pick up Benny.

The AFL made an exception for Ramma but cancer is a bit different to running into a tram. I would doubt they will do it again.

I'm a Richmond fan and would be happy to have him at Punt Rd next season. Most Tigers fans seem supportive and I am sure, barring some idiot like Eddie McGuire getting in the way, he will be wearing the yeelow and black next season. 8-)

He will be a Tiger in 2009 and good luck to him. It will be a hard road to hoe but I sincerely hopes he suceeds in his endeavours to give up the addictions and to his comeback as an extremely good footballer, I really do.

The AFL have rejected the move to put Polak on the rookie list... so not looking good for Cousins

Tigers will just get Cousins with Pick 6, put Polak on the Long Term Injury List and then pick up a rookie and promote him off the rookie list and on to the Senior List.

I thought they'd already committed to selecting another guy and needed that 2nd pick if they were to get Cousins... I guess we'll find out soon enough if they change their plans.

I have been told the problem Richmond have is the guy they want to pick up is David Gourdis who they delisted. They have already told him they would re draft him up in he PSD.

He is a West Australian and Fremantle (who pick before Richmond)have already indicated they will pick him up in the rookie draft so Richmond now have to have decide between Gourdis or Cousins and todays move was a play for them to be able to get both.

I'm willing to have a friendly $20 bet to say he doesn't play even 16 games out of the 22.Only one player please

Good luck to him if he is fair dinkum , but I wouldn't have risked him.

Hope I am wrong.

I reckon Essendon are exponentially more stupid than Richmond.

Richmond drafted a 30 year old champion who will sell 1000 extra memberships & with luck with injuries could easily finish in the top 5 of the Tigers B & F this year.

Essendon drafted a 27 year old undersized hack who was was never any good, has also been out of the AFL for a year,  never will be any good  and with injuries to other players may be lucky get 5 to 8 games this year.

Plenty of mistakes were mid earlier in the decade but if we go from the 2004 draft onwards I wouldnt think there could be any argument otherwise.

There was a fair bit of sarcasm in that comment you guys.

Sarcasm being the lowest form of wit of course.

One can only speculate what impact the latest revelations from Big Ben can have on his future with Richmond & his playing career  :slaphead:

I am thrilled that we decided to draft him.

No idea how many games he will play of if he will relapse but the amount of momney he has already brought into the club through memberships, merchandise and media exposure he has already paid for his contract.

Hopefully he is around for another 3 or 4 seasons and if he can get back to 80% of where he was he will still be a very good player.

I'm sure I read something earlier today about a Hawthorn ruckman who has been charged after a drunken rampage that involved damaging cars?

Anyone know more?

BRENT RENOUF...May face criminal charges for wilful damage to a couple of cars outside a pub in Hawthorn..only played eight games but did play in Grand Final.
Apparently drunk.
