I see the politically correct AFL is going to ban brawling spectators for life from AFL games across Australia if they are convicted of violence and affray at games nationwide.
That is just a motherhood statement from the AFL. How in Heaven will that be policed ? If a thug has been convicted in Melbourne and rolls up at the Sydney Cricket Ground to watch a game the following season, let alone in ten years time ,who would ever know who he was or what he looked like ? Are they intending to have photo IDs of those convicted at each ground and gate attendants are to eye off every person flowing through the turnstiles ? Good luck with that.
If Rick Renzella, who was rubbed out for life for the Royal School ring in back in the 1070s, walked through the gates of Flemington tomorrow I reckon none of the gate attendants would have ever heard of him. let alone what he looks like 40+ years after he was given life from attending any race meeting. That would probably apply to most of the officiating stewards.
How do the AFL think they would be any different ?
